The Golden Rooster Award
The Golden Rooster Awards were first handed out in 1981, which was the "Year of the Rooster" in the Chinese calendar. Every year the best Chinese film selected by a jury receives the Golden Rooster Statuette. Sponsored by the China Film Association, these awards are considered the most prominent yearly film awards in Mainland China.
