As a crossover effort from two of Japan's brightest young R&B artists, Love Forever does not disappoint. This remarkably likable R&B number lays romantic lyrics and infectious synth beats over a rolling mid-tempo melody that bounces with positive energy. If this was a solo track from Kato or Shimizu, it would probably sound too commercial, but as a collaboration Love Forever feels fresh, fun, and catchy. Kato and Shimizu's voices harmonize together beautifully, often sounding like they could be one, and combining to turn Love Forever into an outstanding R&B pop number.

B-side Looking your eyes is more of a standard-fare R&B ballad. The verse portions of the song are actually quite good and closer to the two artists' R&B roots than Love Forever, but the chorus is cheesy and the beats aren't that interesting. It is however a pleasant surprise that Kato and Shimizu collaborated for all three tracks on the release rather than just the main single. Their teaming proves to be the strong point of Looking your eyes, enhancing the typical melody and arrangement with ear-pleasing harmonization. Shimizu's rap portion also brings some welcome variety to the number.

There are few words that make me wince like "Celine Dion cover track" but Kato and Shimizu's take on I'm Your Angel is surprisingly palatable even for detractors like me. Though their vocals aren't in the same league as Dion and R. Kelly, Kato and Shimizu successfully bring their own style to the song, and their voices actually match up better than that of the original artists. Though the overall sound of their cover is similar to the original, it also feels very different in tone and atmosphere, more understated but also more expressive. I personally prefer this younger, sweeter, and dare I say more soulful rendition of I'm Your Angel to the original.
