Not to be Missed

My affair with Yuna's work is much like the one I have with Utada Hikaru - Her songs can be hard to grasp at first, bombarding you with almost non-formulaic arrangements that can be a little off-putting at first. But upon repeated listenings, the melodies reveal themselves to you and you can begin to start to appreciate all the other little touches that Yuna and the composers added into it. The first time I heard Yuna's singing was listening to the theme song of "Limit of Love", PRECIOUS. Frankly, I became almost annoyed at the apparent sheer plainness of her vocal style. It also bears no resemblance to the shrill timbre and untrained style employed by most Japanese singers I've heard. Her voice is very much an american product, but what's different is she somehow manages to infuse into it an Asian-ness she presumably inherited from her parents. The result is a dull, flat tone at first listen, but during choruses quickly adapts into a soaring voice with a gentle brightness that is unhindered by the same strain evident in singers like Onitsuka Chihiro and Ayumi. This rare quality took me many attentive sessions to notice and is what got me addicted to Yuna Ito in the first place. Juxtaposed to this almost opera-like stature is an earthy breathiness and vitality that makes no attempt to hide its youthfulness, but rather is complemented by it. Her DVD includes videos that are harmonious in artistic expression and each possess an unforgettable simple beauty about them (most notably Precious, which you can look up on youtube.com, and Losin 'it). Likely the best I've seen coming from Japan, bar Utada Hikaru's Kaz trilogy. The tenderness of a girl, the strength of a Diva. 9 out of 10 from me. |

I love all the new songs...but the album starts to drag after awhile. The lack of upbeat songs really puts me to sleep. While the ballads are extremely beautiful, they just go on and on. Yuna is talented though, but her voice lacks interesting qualities. It's just pretty...but there's nothing unpredictable about it. My mom's a bigger fan than I am. I wouldn't recommend this CD for my age group though. I'm 18...I recommend this for 28-up. |

Good
| I thought that this was a good album. I liked WORKAHOLIC and Tender is the Night the best. The songs could have been better lyricwise, but I love her voice and tone. I am disappointed that her song Pureyes wasn't on this album, but other than that, I liked it. |

uhm... I thought this album was interesting... I really thought when buying the DVD Japan version of this product, i would be kind of asking for one fast paced song (losin) and i guess ballads for the rest, however i found out this album appealed to me alot. Sure for some other customers who may have purchased this product may have thought differently, although you must consider what Yuna Ito delievers in contrast to other Ballad artist. An over view through her tracklist is that i didn't really care to skip tracks and i believed it was very well compiled list. "Fragile" had an appeal to me, (concerning this is not a single) it had more of a lovely pop. Every song is very easy listen to; concerning most of the music i purchase plays in my room stereo. The DVD contents was interesting, "endless story" instead of having that band; it shows clips of her makings of most of her singles. I did like the fact stuck on you was not on the album, or else it would have not blended well. The music videos, are different from the promotional ones on TV, so do expect to see more Yuna rather than the band. Recently; my DVD player is kind of broken, so right now i am missing "stuck on you"..... I rate it a 9 |

Shes the second best
Shes the second best
| I was very impressed with this album when i first had it. Most songs on this album is great and you wouldnt get bored listening to it because its just so catchy. The best song on the album is probably endless story although it is quite old now, my second favourite has got to be Losin. |

Poor Debut Album
Poor Debut Album

I loved her first single "ENDLESS STORY" from NANA and I expected her first album to be great as well. However, it seems that I've been over-rating her a bit. Sure, her English is great but since she was born in America, it comes no surprise that she excells in it. Most of her songs are ballads and some happy ones as well and some pop ones. Her vocals are great but the songs are not. Her songs in this album are like those where you listen to it and just fast forward it in hope of finding it good but it's really not. Her music videos aren't that great either. Her attemps to "dance" in losin' and Stuck On You wasn't appealing. To conclude, this album of hers isn't something you should purchase. Save the money to buy something more worthwhile. |

This album was very much anticipated, and finally
it's here!! Besides a few exceptions, all of these songs are superior! 1. WORKAHOLIC 5/5: A great upbeat song, nice introduction to the album. Incredibly catchy. Hear it once, and you'll have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Awesome vocals, as always. 2. ENDLESS STORY 6/5: Yuna's debut song, the one that started it all. I've heard it way too many times, and it still impresses me. The vocals are great, I love the guitar and piano in it Everything in this song is just amazing. 3. losin' 5/5: Yuna's 5th single. This song has a great rhythm, and is very catchy. The fast-paced chorus sounds awesome. 4. Know-how 3/5: There's nothing TOO special about this song, nothing really stood out. The vocals are, as always beautiful, so they compensate for the otherwise basically dull song. Nice background music, definitely. 5. Precious 100000/5: Yuna's 3rd single. This is the most beautiful song that I have ever heard. The vocals are simply gorgeous, the melody is amazing, the whole song is so moving. 6. Tender is the Night 5/5: Amazing vocals, like every other song, and surprisingly catchy, even though it's a slow song. 7. Fragile 3/5: Another one of those not-that-special songs. The strings in the beginning, and in various places throughout the song, are the highlight. They really spice it up. 8. Nobody Knows 3/5: This song is a little odd. I'm not sure what the message is A secret love that she doesn't want anyone to know about ? Who knows. Ha, nobody! Catchy, though. 9. Faith 5/5: Yuna's 2nd single. A sad-sounding ballad. Again, simply beautiful vocals. 10. Stay for Love 5/5: Kind of a techno-ish song. The b-side to Yuna's 5th single losin'. The style was new for her, but I think she did a great job at it. 11. Truth 5/5: Yuna's 6th single. Definitely no ENDLESS STORY, but still, a beautiful song. Gorgeous vocals, piano, melody 12. Perfume 5/5: A beautiful ballad, sounds sad, longing. A nice ending to the album (not counting Precious -wedding extended ver.-, the bonus track). 13. Precious -wedding extended ver.- 6/5: This version is very pretty, but I still prefer the original. This album is a great debut! The only songs missing are JOURNEY, Pureyes, and stuck on you. So, the solution to that is to get all of her singles, right? |

Being a big fan of Yuna since her debut, I looked forward to this album very much but I feel it was a very bad album. Although her single songs were good, all the other songs on this album sound like fillers. I'm surprised this album is beating artists like BoA on the oricon although BoA is in her 2nd(?) week. Yuna's debut album just didn't have any good new songs. I look forward to her next single though. . . |

If you love ballads and a beautiful voice, then you'll love Yuna Ito's "Heart" CD/DVD. She is gorgeous and her vocals are superb! You could say I'm bias, but so far everyone (20+ various friends and co-workers) that I have played a Yuna Ito song to said it was beautiful, even though they didn't understand Japanese. Which says something about how enjoyable her music is to listen to. Local girls are No Ka Oi! \(^O^)/ |
