Takeshi is an amazing director, instead of always giving hollywood's unreal hero characteristics, he uses real people (With real flaws) but i have only seen brother, so my opinion is very narrow, i live in toronto and want to know where i can find Mr.Kitano's films !! beside the film festival like a movie store!! if you know, post please thanks!

If you hope this movie is like Kenshin.. go kill y Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH KENSHIN...!!!! Kenshin would be an insult to Zatoichi. If you want to know what kind of movie it is, then go see Zatoichi(made in the 60s) and some Takeshi's movies. The movie is great, the images are beautifull. It's different from the original Zatoichi because of Takeshi. It's good in a different way.

I actually SAW this film, at the toronto film festival 2003. it's a beautiful film, and a funny film. I highly recomend it, and cannot wait to own a copy.

Not Kenshin Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
When the description is correct, this has nothing to do with Kenshin. Kenshin was a soldier who gives up killig people to start a new life. To protect the people he loves. The subject corruption in the era is just one topic. Zatoichi sounds different to me. Hope it will be a great thing to wait for. Even tough I would really like to see a Kenshin with real acotrs... I only can think of Korean Actors ;)

this movie sorta reminds me of... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
i haven't seen this movie yet (but now i want to) but this movie sorta reminds me of that anime series called rurouni kenshin, where he was also a master swordsman and has to deal with all that samurai stuff during the meiji era. check out that anime and then compare to this movie. ciao.
