A quartet of Taiwanese heartthrobs play solider in Forever Friends, an entertaining military comedy from popular Taiwanese director Chiu Yen Ping. Jimmy Lin, Takeshi Kaneshiro, and Alec Su are three soldiers who become friends after transferring into a new platoon together. Their captain is Nicky Wu, who earns the resentment of the trio thanks to his strict, inflexible ways. The trio decides to make the captain the butt of their practical jokes, which gets them in some hot water. But somehow the trio becomes a quartet as the captain is eventually invited into their close-knit circle. The fellows learn each others good points, and begin to understand one another. When the inter-platoon wargames begin, the newfound camaraderie and understanding becomes a vital strength. The group can now band together to prove their worth to the soldiers who've looked down on them, leading to many hilarious and even inspiring moments. Forever Friends is a fun comedy celebrating the bonds of friendship that can be forged by four very different men who are given a common goal.

I came across this on a couple of weeks ago and it was a light hearted movie. Nicky shows his athletic strength in pushups, etc and I love the 'sarcastic ' tonge-in-cheek dialogue/ remarks passed between Captain Nicky and the platoon. So much fun. I love it.

The title of my review says it all. I regret buying this movie and it was a stupid move I made. Wasted about $15 plus shipping and handling on this. I think the story was corny, and I didn't like it at all. Just my opinion. I like the guys but this movie isn't their best.

"Forever Friends" is a funny movie about life in the army, making friends, facing hardship, and overcoming one's own fears. Nicky Wu has to train a bunch of boys who are the lowest ranking soldiers-in-training and try to turn them into soldiers-of-men, mean, lean, fighting machinese. I enjoyed the performance of Kaneshiro Takeshi, Jimmy Lin and Alec Su. There were some funny jokes and scenes in this movie.

The story line is average but the great bonus of course is to see these 4 actors . The best most touching part is when Kaneshiro met his mother.
