What a loser Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
I was extremely disappointed with this compilation. Let's talk about the 2nd CD first. I have never seen any oldies complilation with so much different styles and sound clashed together in one CD. Can you imagine to put Everly Brothers after Peggy Lee, or to follow Ella Fitzgerald with a Deep Purple Song? These are good artists but they are not to be enjoyed at the same frame of mind. The selections from these artists are also questionable. The one picked are far from the best. If Uncle Ray wants to promote Hong Kong music. He's better off stick to the 60's music. It is refreshing not to have another compilation with the overused "Here's a heart" "I can't grow peaches..." etc. But what we wanted are the hard to get good album cuts from the artists we want to hear, like Teddy Robin, Joe Junior and Fabulous Echoes. Or rare GREAT singles like Far Away (Judy Jim), Conversation (Doris Hardoon),Skye Boat Song, The Leaves That Are Brown (Sam Hui & Lotus)Tony Myatt and Danny Diaz & Checkmates (not Orchestra). I don't mind a couple of odd and socks but not ten out of sixteen. The misrepresentation of songs from the 1st CD would only turn oldies fans away from future releases. The Local and International artists mix didn't work 15 years ago on the 10-CD Polygram Presents HK Music History 1960-1990. Certainly it is not working here. I like Uncle Ray's program, but if this is his upmost favourites than he should listen to this in private.
