Frothy but fun Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
While "Paradise Kiss" is by no means a classic, it is an enjoyable flick filled with beautiful clothes, beautiful settings, beautiful people, and a fairy-tale like plot. It's not a particularly deep film, but for all the teenage girls in the world, this movie should be engaging.

Kitagawa is convincing enough as Yukari, our protagonist and student-turned-model. She starts out living life only to make her mother happy--by studying hard and trying to get into the best schools. She isn't particularly happy, but she has nothing else to work for in life.

When given an opportunity by the four member fashion team 'Paradise Kiss' to be their brand's exclusive model, Yukari becomes confused as a new path begins to open in front of her. She starts to wonder what she herself wants from life. Does she really want to struggle to fulfill her mothers expectations while having a relatively secure future, or does she want to follow the risky and unforgiving world of professional modeling?

This movie is all about finding the courage to chase your dreams, and follows the process of Yukari growing up and becoming more self-aware--all while following her glamorous exploits in the realms of fashion and romance in Tokyo and later New York. All in all, an enjoyable film that's sure to appeal to fans of a good teenage fairy tale. :)
