Two years after the megahit Descendants of the Sun, Song Hye Kyo returns to the small screen in tvN's Encounter with Park Bo Gum (Love in the Moonlight)! Directed by Kim Shin Woo (Jealousy Incarnate) and written by Yoo Young Ah (Miracle in Cell No. 7), the melodrama details the magical Encounter between a well-off divorced woman and an ordinary young man who decide to be together despite their different backgrounds. Encounter also co-stars P.O (Hotel Del Luna), Jang Seung Jo (Chocolate), Moon Sung Keun (Vagabond), Jeon So Nee (When My Love Blooms), Kwak Sun Young (Hospital Playlist), Nam Ki Ae (Haechi) and Ko Chang Seok (Memorist).

Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo), the daughter of Seoul's mayor, is given the CEO position of Donghwa Hotel as alimony after divorcing her cheating husband. Despite the divorce, she is still forced to attend business events related to her former in-laws. During a business trip in Cuba, Soo Hyun encounters optimistic young man Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum) who enjoys life. They fatefully reunite when Kim Jin Hyuk joins Donghwa Hotel's PR team.
