American-born Taiwan singer-songwriter Cindy Yen has proved her worth in the two years since her dazzling debut in 2009. The budding songsmith and performer has earned the favor of music critics and listeners with her maiden album and especially the occasional Jay Chou collaborations. Lately she even branched out into acting with a starring role in the TV drama The Invaluable Treasure 1949. This versatile girl is now back with her sophomore album titled 2 Be Different, a collection of 10 new songs that showcases her improved technical savvy and an adaptability in her style. Again, she has composed and produced the entire album, which features the Broadway-flavored R&B/electronic dance tune "Trap", the autobiographical Brand New Day, and the soothing R&B ballad "Shatter the Sadness".
