With direction and a script provided by Gong Jeong Shik, A Big Match is an uproarious tale of one unlucky man who tries his best to turn his wholly unsuccessful life around for good! This enjoyable film centers on the plight of one Gong Pil Du (Lee Moon Shik), a man recruited to the police academy for his athletic skills and achievements, in particular, his capturing of a bronze medal in wrestling. Since then, however, he has had a poor professional career as a detective, and his personal life isn't much better. He is the perennial bachelor, now some forty years old! Even worse, he's terrible with money and maintains a credit record that is anything but desirable.
Things get even more problematic when Pil Du's father is in need of some life-saving surgery, and, of course, the hapless detective is low on cash! In order to obtain the much-needed financing, Pil Du makes a deal with a notorious crime boss. Sadly, this turn of events only compounds Pil Du's problems even further, as he is now suspected by his peers as being a corrupt cop! To change his luck and prove his innocence, Pil Du hatches a scheme that involves staging a three-day brawl! Will his shenanigans prove successful or will things just get worse from here? Well....
| Not very impressed in this movie...considering Moon-sik is the usual comedian. In this film he turn out to be an average rough cop. Passing time?? This will do..otherwise, i suggest you just borrow. |
