An odd journey starts as Mitsuru, a private detective, and a boy, whom a dying mobster entrusts to him, decide to go to northern Japan in search of the boy's mother, and the detective's buddy Hisashi joins them later. Based on a popular TV series, this is a highly entertaining film, directed by Sakamoto Junji who successfully portrays the funny yet “pitiable” relationship of the two unique private eyes. Injured Angels stars Toyokawa Etsushi of Love Letter (1995) as Mitsuru, and Claude Maki of Takeshi Kitano's A Scene at Sea (1991) as his Hisashi.
