Known for his performances in films and dramas like Night Market Hero and Apple in Your Eye, Blue Lan makes his directorial debut with the warm comedy A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool. The Taiwan actor also appears in the film alongside Kuo Shu Yao (Step Back to Glory) and Leo Tsai.
Xiao Wei (Leo Tsai) is 27 years old and has Down syndrome. He comes from a loving and affluent family and is well cared for by his mother (Tien Niu). He loves reading the picture book "Forest Prince and Mermaid" by his favorite author Kauff (Blue Lan). One day, Xiao Wei deviates from his usual route and ends up by the sea. He sees Blue (Kuo Shu Yao) emerge from the sea and immediately thinks that she is like the mermaid from the book. As the "forest prince," Xiao Wei is determined to take care of his mermaid, and Blue gradually opens her heart to his sincere love. However, this encounter also causes Xiao Wei's peaceful, nearly normal life to no longer be normal.
