Traces of Sin and Listen to the Universe director Ishikawa Kei adapts the sci-fi short story Arc by Hugo Award-winning American author Ken Liu. Starring Yoshine Kyoko, Terajima Shinobu and Okada Masaki, the film is set in the near future and follows a woman who becomes the first person to attain eternal life.

At the age of 17, Lena (Yoshine Kyoko) separates from her newborn son and begins a life of wandering. At 19, she meets her mentor Emma (Terajima Shinobu) and starts working in "body works" – plastination of bodies for those who have lost loved ones. Meanwhile, Emma's younger brother Amane (Okada Masaki) develops technology that can stop aging and make immortality possible. Lena becomes the first woman to undergo this procedure, allowing her to live for eternity in her 30-year-old body.
