YesAsia Editorial Description

Working nonstop on both the small and big screens, Korean heartthrob Jang Keun Suk (The Happy Life, Hong Gil Dong) stars as a problem teenager who becomes the unlikely surrogate father for an abandoned baby in the hit comedy Baby and I. Jang Keun Suk may be Korean Cinema's hottest young actor at the moment, but his infant co-star, Mason Moon, gives him more than a run for his money in the star power department. With an arsenal of adorable expressions and gurgling sounds, little Mason is one irresistibly cute baby who can bring smiles to the steeliest of hearts, and his charming antics alone already make Baby and I an entertaining watch. Add in hilarious voiceover from popular funnyman Park Myung Soo, who narrates the baby's thoughts, and Baby and I shapes up to be a small film with a mighty heart and side-tickling comedy to spare. Based on a Japanese comic book, Baby and I is the first film from Kim Jin Young, who previously produced My Son and Mapado 2.

After getting into one too many fisticuffs, rebellious high school student Jun Su (Jang Keun Suk) is left to fend for himself by his runaway parents who demand that he get his life together. Having the house all to himself is just fine for Jun Su until one day a baby shows up in his shopping cart, along with a note claiming that he's the father! Jun Su has no choice but to take care of the baby, in all its crying, diaper-changing glory. But it's a bit difficult for Jun Su to keep his characteristic cool image when he has to tote a baby around to school and work. And trying to find a nanny who's willing to feed the baby is a whole other adventure...

Very good packing and value Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This movie is fun story and this version was nicely packaged for a reasonable price. Also english sub-titles were good enough so that english speaking viewers could enjoy the film.

Boring & Me Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
In Baby & Me, high-school student Joon-soo (Jang Geun-seok) finds himself in the unenviable position (even though it’s arguably his own fault) of being suddenly saddled with a young son he never even knew he had! His parents have conveniently headed for the hills in order to teach him a lesson, so what’s a teenage guy on his own to do? Why, recruit help of course!

Enter Joon-soo’s weird chicken-suit-wearing social-recluse love interest (or to be more accurate, love disinterest). Although I was rooting for her by definition of her role as female lead, her peculiarity wasn’t really ever satisfactorily explained. Her apparent love for Joon-soo is based entirely on his supposed good looks (you'll have to forgive me but I've never found him to be particularly handsome). Warning: the romantic scene shown on the inside of the DVD case is NOT even in the movie! I suggest you look elsewhere for a romance...

The baby 'Han Woo-ram' (I wish the movie explained the significance of his name) is cute but has been given an occasional voice-over by a gruff-sounding man. I found it entirely distracting and quite erratic. I think it would have been better to use a less masculine voice and be consistent in the viewpoint (e.g. either Joon-soo tells the story or Woo-ram does).

Jang Geun-seok has some emotional scenes and he pulls them off credibly well – the boy can certainly cry (and I’m not talking about the baby, although he has a good set of lungs too)!

If you are a Jang Geun-seok fan looking for a good comedy I would leave the decision up to you, but for everyone else I would suggest you try something else. There is little that sets Baby & Me apart from the hundreds of other mediocre comedies out there that somehow don't quite make it.

Technical Aspects:

English Subtitles: Good - I noticed less than 10 minor mistakes throughout the film.
Picture Quality: Average – while it doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of the film the picture quality is not as crisp as it could be. Also, the aspect ratio is 14:9 instead of 16:9 so on a widescreen TV it appears stretched. If you correct the aspect ratio the subtitles then appear a little squished and are harder to read but my eyes quickly adjusted and I didn't find it a problem.
Sound Quality: Good - I noticed no sound problems.

Good watch! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I really liked this movie. Jang Geun Suk does a fantastic job in showing the roller coaster of emotions that his character goes through. The randomness that is the talking baby is really annoying. If that didn't happen I'd give it a higher rating most likely. That was just really weird. I could see a cute, little voice, but the voice of an old man? Weird...

Over all I do really recommend this movie to any Jang Geun Suk fans. Worth a watch!

Cute and fun movie! Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
The plot of the movie isn't the best but the actors makes it fun and worth to watch.
Jang Geun Suk, a new Korean star!!, and the baby Manson Moon are so cute together...
I also love "Kim Byul", her character is amazing and fun...love her costumes and peronality and it makes it fun to watch! Love when she says things about alcohol, smoking, correcting teachers etc..!
From beeing a rebellious teenager to a father is amazing to see and he is really trying. Somehow I get a feeling that this movie is not only for "fun" it's also to show how life can turn out for many young people, who are having sex at young age.
Baby Manson Moon are so cute and are really an amazing baby, you feel you want him yourself!! Where can you find such a baby and get it to act like that!?
Great job and fun movie...and touching!
