  • August 25, 2010 Awesome single Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"After Love" is one of the best songs of 2009. It's smooth, well-written and a great addition to her repertoire. "Girlfriend featuring BoA" is a great upbeat club song that will get stuck in your head very easily. If you don't own her best album, I'd definitely recommend buying this single.

July 23, 2008 Love this album Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
At first I couldn't get into this album, but lately it's grown on me. It is the first time since Geofu that I actually felt that the album worked as a whole. It's a nice combination of soft rock, pop and R&B. I'm really happy that there were no songs where she strains her voice (she's guilty of that on her other albums...), and Hatsuyuki (track #9) is already one of my all time favorite Sowelu songs. The 'Engrish' on this album is bearable, although I'm not sure I can forgive her crappy cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's SEPTEMBER.
Sowelu's sexy voice will definitely please the ears of many Jpop fans. I highly recommend getting this album, and grab the limited edition if you can for the DVD.

July 22, 2008 Excellent album Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
"Porno Graffitti" is an excellent all-round album. It features the usual mix of PG songs. There's the funny songs (Track #4 Bears, Track #9 Rock Band ga yatte kita), serious rock songs (Track #2 Utsusemi, Track #6 Tettsui), and the heart-warming soft rock songs (Track #5 Walker, Track #11 Sorairo).
All of the songs are well made and I felt the album had a bit more cohesiveness and better flow than it's predecessor. I would rank it as their third best album, after "Kumo wo mo Tsukamu Tami" and "Thumpx". Definitely a great buy if you're new to this band or if you already love them.

March 22, 2007 Took some getting used to.. Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
This song didn't immdiately catch my attention, but after a few listens, it's a very good song that suits her voice. The b-side, Kanjiru mama, written by Kuwahara Yasunobu from GAGAGA SP is very catchy and easy to listen to. I think it's about time she releases a full album again, she's been making less mainstream and more alternative rock music, so hopefully we'll get a really good rock album soon.

January 23, 2007 DRIVE saves it Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I wasn't too big a fan of Komorebi, because I don't think it suits her voice at all. The b-side, DRIVE, however, is EXACTLY the type of music that she's perfect for. I really hope she sticks with the harder rock and punk style music for the future.

September 6, 2006 Favorite YUKI album so far Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I have never been the biggest YUKI fan around, but after her third album I decided to give her another try because I liked some of the songs. I have to say that this album absolutely blows my mind. The songs are pure addiction, especially Melancholista, Dramatic, Fugai nai iya and Natsu no Hero. The only song that I did not like was Yorokobi no Tane, but the rest I all like. This album is definately a must have for YUKI fans, and it's something that people who love Pop/Rock should try out. YUKI's voice may not appeal to everyone, but once you get used to it you learn to appreciate its uniqueness and beauty.

    July 16, 2006 Perfect Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Although I liked SNoW's vocals from the start, I thought her singles lacked appeal and didn't really make her stand out in her genre. This single is really what I wanted to hear from her from the start. Both songs on the single go perfectly with her powerful, low voice. In addition to that they both have a catchiness to them. I can't wait to hear a full album from this girl and I will continue to buy her music.

June 7, 2006 Not what I hoped it would be Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Based on other people's recommendations I decided to pick up this album. I never really got into DAI even though I did like some of their singles. This album is a good example of what happens when a band splits up. The creativity I found in some of the DAI singles can't be found anywhere on this album. I also thought Tomiko's voice didn't suit most of the songs and that her voice sounded a bit..flat for most of them. There was only one even remotely interesting song on here, but I grew out of it too quickly to even remember which one. All in all, I would say that if you're a DAI fan, try it, if not..eh...I could recommend dozens of artists who are better than Tomiko Van. One last thing, why are Avex artists covering so many crappy Disney songs? I can't imagine wanting to listen to Disney song when they're sung by English speaking artists, let alone Engrish speaking ones.

    May 22, 2006 A must have Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Although Kataritsugu koto is on the Hanada-iro album, I still think every Chitose fan should get this because of Tsuki wo Nusumu. When I first listened to the song I thought it was rather boring, but then later when I listened to it again and really understood the meaning of the lyrics it made me respect Chitose even more. Tsuki wo Nusumu is a b-side, but it's still as good as any other A-side song.

    May 14, 2006 Hmm...not her best Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Although I'm probably one of her biggest fans, this Sowelu single just didn't turn out how I wanted. I love her pop music as much as her R&B music, but this single just doesn't fit her voice at all. Moreover, the music gets irritating after a few listens and really destroys the repeat value. The b-side was worth it at least, "Yume" is a dreamy ballad, nothing forced, just smooth Sowelu at her best. I do like the new approach with the cover, I wasn't a very big fan of the fake tan and extra cleavage. I really hope her third album will offer some new stuff for us Sowelu fans, because this single was a bit of a let down. Anyways, good luck Sowelu!

May 14, 2006 Brilliant comeback Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Finally it's here! Hajime Chitose's third album after a long break from the industry. This album was worth the wait though, and I highly recommend this album to everyone that loves Japanese music. The three singles before this album, Kataritsugu Koto, Haru no Katami and Ao no Requiem were brilliant, and this album adds another 10 awesome tracks. I won't spoil the fun by writing about every track, but just take my word for it, it's everything you could want from a Chitose album. My personal favorite is Shinda Onnanoko, the bonus track included with the limited edition. It's a very powerful ballad about the tragedy of Hiroshima, and Chitose's awesome voice gives it that emotional edge. The packaging for the album is very pretty. The pictures of Chitose surrounded by beautiful foliage, flowers and birds really explains the meaning behind the title "Hanada Iro", which means "Light blue color", which in turn symbolizes peace. Buy this album, you won't regret it.

May 13, 2006 Yuki & Yuuka do it again Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It's been awhile since the release of Destination, but FictionJunction YUUKA's new single makes the wait very much worth it. Silly-Go-Round is a very catchy and beautiful song, high paced and full of energy. The b-side, angel gate, is a slow but very beautiful ballad. Both songs are perfect, Yuki's arrangments are top-notch as always and Yuuka's voice just keeps getting better and better. If you have the chance, watch the music video for Silly-Go-Round, it's very symbolic and we finally get to see Yuuka in some sexy yet reserved outfits.

May 5, 2006 Wonderful music by a legend Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This single is awesome. It contains two easy listening ballads. I personally prefer the b-side "Futatsu no Kokoro-tachi" over "bless you" because the latter is a bit too slow for me. The first press edition package is really pretty with three full sized pictures as well as an awesome mini-poster. Be sure to pre-order her upcoming album, the first press will probably sell out soon!

April 14, 2006 HaMC Does it right Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I didn't like the pop overtones of their first album Goover, but Gou On Progressive is perfect. All the tracks are real rock, not sappy pop rock. The vocals are clear, the lyrics are interesting and the music is some of the best in JRock. If you're looking for awesome Jrock with a female vocal lead, get this album right away, at $22.99 it's a great bargain.

April 12, 2006 Soothing and uplifting Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Zutto zutto is such a great TiA single because it combines her two best sides. Firstly, Zutto zutto... is a melancholic track about waiting for someone to answer your love. The track is ballad style and TiA's voice is absolutely perfect for simple ballads, the way she pronounces certain words adds an extra cuteness that I often find missing in Jpop ballads. The second track, Chisana te, is a really adorable little tune about a blooming love. Like I said before, TiA has a certain cuteness to her pronunciation, and in this happy little track it really stands out. I can't wait for a new album from TiA, but in the meantime I'll keep myself happy with this great single.

MY WAY/Sunrize is a much better single than her last one, Get Wild. Both songs are upbeat and flow very well. I especially love the lyrics for Sunrize and I really enjoy the Prayer remix that was included. The packaging for the limited edition is very pretty, the colors are very cool and the dress Nami wears is very flattering for a full length dress.

April 5, 2006 Same old stuff Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
What really disappointed me about this album is how it offers practically nothing new. The songs on this album are almost no different from the songs on her first two albums. And yes, Ayaka may have a good voice but this album is a complete bore from beginning to end. Ayaka sings almost every song the same way. So, if you like variety in your Jpop, skip this album and get something else. Even if you like Ayaka, it's better to try something else or you'll regret wasting $27.25 on this thing. I hope for her next album she'll actually try something other than ballads, or else she'll probably end up becoming a third rate artist very soon.

March 25, 2006 Solid, but... Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I like Hitomi, for a tiny girl she has a mighty voice, but I really hoped that this album would be a little heavier in the rock department. She has such a good rock voice and it seems wasted on Pop-Rock. I hope she has a more defining sound for her next album. Vocals wise, she's very strong and has lots of potential, I just don't really like Pop-Rock that much. The DVD was nice, albeit a bit on the short side. Some extras would have been nice. All in all, a 7 out of 10 isn't bad for a debut album, I'll be looking forward to her new releases in the future.

March 24, 2006 Mysterious and deep Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Kage" is awesome, it's so deeply meaningful, and Kou's almost haunting voice gives it a flair of mystery as well. At first I didn't like the b-sides, but now I love them just as much as "Kage". "interference" has a really cool Jazzy sound and mature lyrics, "Ano hito kono hito" is a simplistic ballad but it completes the single quite nicely. It was actually going to be on "Hitori Asobi", but they removed it to be used as a b-side for this single instead.

March 21, 2006 Mixed feelings Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I've been an Aya fan for a long time now, and I was quite excited about this album, however I have to look at it with a bit of scepticism. This album is loaded with brand new tracks, which is a welcome change for Aya, who usually only has a handful of new ones. However, I don't really like most of them. The only new songs that sparked my interest were "1 million thanks" (Track 2), "Moshimo negai ga kanau nara feat. KOHEI JAPAN" (track 6). "Hoshizora Highway" (Track 8) and "Shiroi yuki ga furu yoru ni" (Track 11). Most of the other tracks are a bit drab and lacking in personality. The singles for this album were also pretty weak, the two produced by Ryoji from KESTUMEISHI were alright, but I don't like hearing Ryoji singing in the background because a man as backing vocals for a young girl just sounds odd most of the time. So the only single I really like is "Yume no Chikara", which is a pretty bad single when you compare it to her 2004 stuff like "Usotsuki", "Kaze" and "Afure, sou na ai daite." Overall, I would recommend getting the cheap Korean version. The DVD that came with this CD is just boring as dirt because they're saving her full length PV for the next DVD volume of Aya clips.
