One of the most representative indie pop outfits in Hong Kong, The Marshmallow Kisses are Peter (music and vocal) and Edine (main vocal). Since they live in different countries, their communication and collaboration are typically carried out over the Internet. Having worked "together" for 10 years, during which they released i wonder why my favorite boy leaves me an EP in 2004, the duo has garnered heaps of praise for their music, which comes across as soft, sweet, simple, and sublime - just like what the group's name suggests.

Hailed by Japanese Shibuyakei musician Kaji Hideki as something "...really pleasant and nostalgic", and "absolutely charming", The Marshmallow Kisses' first full-length album Ciao! Baby is an exciting collection of European-style retro pop sound blended with bossa nova and light jazz. Reflecting the duo's international influences, the song lyrics come in an assortment of Chinese, English, and French. 2011年出版的新專輯充斥著香港本土音樂少有的法式浪漫及編曲成熟的Bossa Nova作品, Edine與Peter的和諧對唱, 聽著讓人感覺飄飄然, 全然忘了身在擠壓的香港石屎森林。歌詞以中文、英文、法文不同語言寫成, 曲風以French pop, Swedish pop, Bossa Nova, Semi-Classical 以及清新涉谷系為主。

由於樂隊二人長期分居異地, 專輯內大部份歌曲通過電腦網絡溝通而製成。Edine曾旅居東京、倫敦及香港, Peter則游離於蒙特利爾與香港之間, 受到各種文化風俗沖擊, 加上游走世界各地的經歷, 使宅男宅女炮製出與眾不同的音樂作品, 特顯出其Cosmopolitan的特質。歌詞中常流露出歌者對當代城市生活疏離的一些感觸, 細聽下使人想起村上春樹小說裡那些寂寞的故事主角。
