YesAsia Editorial Description

Boys Over Flowers star Lee Min Ho and Sungkyunkwan Scandal heroine Park Min Young team up for the Korean drama adaptation of the popular manga City Hunter. Helmed by Prosecutor Princess and Brilliant Legacy director Jin Hyuk, SBS's take on City Hunter departs from the original manga's premise for an action-packed, adrenaline-pumping revenge drama suggestive of an origin story. Lee Min Ho stars as the eponymous vigilante out for justice and revenge, while Park Min Young co-stars as the spunky presidential bodyguard whose appearance puts a dent in his lone ranger plans. Lee Joon Hyuk (City Hall) is the stubbornly righteous prosecutor who hunts the City Hunter, Cheon Ho Jin the President with skeletons in his closet, and Kim Sang Joong the ruthless father hell-bent on revenge. Kim Sang Ho, Running Man funnyman Lee Kwang Soo, and Kara's Goo Hara also appear in supporting roles in City Hunter.

In 1983, a South Korean task unit is sent into North Korea on a secret retaliation mission. After the mission, the task unit is killed at sea by their own government to cover up the incident. The only man to survive, Jin Pyo (Kim Sang Joong) vows to avenge his fallen comrades. He kidnaps his late friend's son Yoon Sung and escapes to Thailand, vigorously training him for the mission that lies ahead.

Twenty-eight years later, Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) arrives in Seoul to begin his revenge against the Group of Five, the men behind the brutal cover-up. By day a playboy network analyst at the presidential Blue House, Yoon Sung lurks in the shadows as the headline-splashing "City Hunter". After picking out his enemies, he exposes their crimes to the public, and drops them off at the doorsteps of prosecutor Young Joo (Lee Joon Hyuk), who is determined to bring both the corrupt officials and the City Hunter to justice. Yoon Sung wants to defend the weak and settle past debts his way, but Jin Pyo knows only of bloody, destructive revenge. As the revenge plan heats up, Yoon Sung must go up against not only the Group of Five and Young Joo, but also his own foster father.

Its worth watching :) Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I didn't actually purchase mine here at Yesasia although I bought a lot of my dramas from here but I give it an eight in rating because the storyline is catchy for me although it started off well and kinda slow towards the middle and ending to what I see, I still love this drama because I'm totally a Lee Min Ho and and Park Min Young shipper. They were such a cute paired that made up for the drag for me. What I really love about this show is Park Min Young's character. She's bubbly and adorable in way that doesn't get you annoyed. I really dislike characters that acts cute and they turn out to be really dumb and I'm just like, "How did he or all of the guys in the show fall in love with such a dumb and annoying girl". For example, Boys Over Flowers, Goong, Mary Stayed Out all Night. I just realized all the dramas I owned doesn't have main girls like that. I know I sound unreasonable but, I don't want to write a long review right now so maybe I'll state all my reason another time.

About the packaging; its the usual two case thing which I find myself to prefer a little bit more although I do enjoy the beautiful and unique box set that YA entertainment provide sometimes makes it really interesting, I prefer the two case just because I feel like it will be easier for me to just take the case of which episodes I want to watch. As for the quality, YA always had really good quality, however I don't know if I probably got a bad one but City Hunter's quality is just terrible sometimes. Towards the middle of the show I realize that it becomes really bright than it quickly tone down than bright again to the point where it was starting to irritate me. In the middle it started but it wasn't as bad till it got to closer to the ending. Some parts the quality is fine like the other but at times it just feels like I'm watching a bootleg. I even thought my cousin's bootleg copy has a better quality than this legitimate release by YA.

It was a 'GOOD' Drama Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Overall, the story and acting were good. The first few episodes were dragging the story without no exciting of cliffhangers, but when you reach the mid episodes, the cliffhangers were tremendous will done. Overall, it was a fine and good watch drama. I bet if it wasn't for the actor in this drama, the drama would not of done well as expected. Overall, the drama was good to watch once. There weren't that much action like the 'Time between wolf and dog' or 'IRIS,' but it was good! Great to watch once.

Outlaw City Hunter Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Crime never pays, but the law sure works when its protecting anyone including the bad guys . Lee Min Ho plays as Yoon Sung the tall, handsome, and cool outlaw who goes by all and any means to bring the corrupted to justice. He isn't just here to show that crime doesn't pay, but seeking a revenge dating back 28 years ago.

Park Min Young play as Nana a cute, pretty, and bodyguard to be messed with. Due to a tragic car accident that causes her mom's death and leaves her dad in a coma. She lives a poor life while trying to be bright and finding anyway to make ends meet. Accidentally or not she somewhat becomes the City Hunters friend even though doesn't know that he is the city hunter. To Nana, Yoon Sung is just an expert of one night stands and always seems to intrude in her life just when things can't seem to be worst.

Different from the original city hunter, but somewhat similar with incidents and what is shown at times. It's unique how everything throughout the drama is related to one another. Nothing happened for no reason. everything that happened is connected to the characters in this drama.
