After finding success with Go Lala Go, actress-director Xu Jinglei returns to the cutthroat business world for Dear Enemy, her fifth directorial effort. This time, Xu no longer plays the eager young office worker, but rather a powerful, globetrotting financial advisor doing business battle against an old flame. Facing off against Xu again is her Go Lala Go co-star Stanley Huang, who once again shares great screen chemistry with his on-screen nemesis. Promising that this is her final commercial film, Xu ups the ante by taking her production across the world to Hong Kong, England and Australia. Dear Enemy also features Gigi Leung (Marrying Mr. Perfect), Aarif Lee (Echoes of the Rainbow), Christy Chung (Jan Dara) and Michael Wong (Overheard).

A capital investment bank led by Derek Lee (Stanley Huang) is launching a hostile takeover of a lithium producer firm on the behalf of another company. To fight off Derek's mysterious client, the CEO of the lithium producer firm (Michael Wong) brings in Amy Liang (Xu Jinglei) as financial advisor. However, Amy is also Derek's former lover. The two still hold resentment towards each other over their break-up ten months prior, and they're now on a cat-and-mouse chase across the globe on a messy business battle. Meanwhile, financial news blogger Henry (Aarif Lee) is monitoring the action and reporting it all to the public.

Derek (Stanley Huang) is the Managing Director of an ivestment bank. The company named A that he serves is about to acquire company B, while his ex-girlfriend Amy (Xu Jinglei) Works as the Financial consultant at the latter. Six months earlier, with the impulse of anger, Amy left Derek who was indulged in his job and joined another investment banks. The two old lovers become enemy.

Both try every ways to achieve their cause; while Derek has ambiguous feelings with his right arm Rebecca (Gigi Leung). As soon as the battle heats up, Amy received an invitation for celebrating her father's 68th birthday. At the family banquet, Amy surprisingly meets Derek and his sister Lucy (Christy Chung). This soon turns out to be a scenario arranged by Amy;s father and Lucy to encourage them to get married soon. The two finally open up to each other and face their true feelings towards each other in the night in Chengdu.
