YesAsia Editorial Description

Long a favorite amongst live music aficionados, female Taiwanese singer-songwriter Deserts Chang made the leap from the pub circuit to a major record label last year with her debut album My Life Will... The album went on to garner four nominations at the 2007 Golden Melody Awards including Best Song of the Year and Best Mandarin Album, bringing the talented artist into mainstream attention. Though more eyes and ears are on her now for her second album, this indie darling stays true to her musical roots with an earthy selection of poetic, guitar-driven numbers. Her new album comes with 11 tracks, including first plug "Like" (Track 3).

Excellent album with magnificent timbre sound more dynamic and lively if compared with subsequent recordings. It is clearly heard European motifs. The album certainly deserves attention.

Good but not perfect Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I've been eagerly awaiting this sophomore album from Zhang Xuan ever since I picked up her debut album last summer. It's finally arrived and I can say that it's solid.

Be warned, though, it's different that her first album - more studio polished and less intimate overall. There is a split between her folk/coffee house style and a more rock-influenced style (I prefer her coffee house style myself). Additionally, there is a song in english (track 5), which bothers me to no end.

Overall, there are some real gems on this album. My favorites are tracks 3, 4, 7 & 8 - all of which are more acoustic and intimate. Most other tracks are good songs, but not as memorable. Definitely get it if you're a fan, but if you've never heard her music before, get her debut first.

not good at all Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
I've listened to this entire album.None of the songs were good except Track6 was OK. I couldn't really tell if her vocals were good b/c in all the songs, her voice was really soft and kind of whispy. I didn't like it. but 2 stars for consolation.
