SBS's genre-blending medical suspense series Doctor Stranger stars Lee Jong Suk as a North Korea-raised genius surgeon caught in a twisted web of political conspiracies, professional rivalries and medical emergencies. Jin Se Yeon (Bridal Mask), Park Hae Jin (You Who Came From the Stars), Kang So Ra (Misaeng) and Sistar's Bora co-star in the unpredictable series.

As a child, Park Hoon (Lee Jong Suk) was taken to North Korea with his father (Kim Sang Joong) who performed an important surgery that helped defuse North-South tensions. They didn't get to return home. Following in his father's footsteps, Hoon becomes a surgeon, but he is forced to witness and perform terrible medical experiments for the North Korean government. During a trip abroad, he attempts to escape with his girlfriend Jae Hee (Jin Se Yun). Things go wrong and he loses Jae Hee.

Years later, Hoon is now a doctor in South Korea and trying his best to make money in hopes of saving Jae Hee. Thanks to a series of happenstances and hospital politics, Hoon ends up joining an elite hospital where he must compete against another surgical team headed by Han Jae Joon (Park Hae Jin). One day, he encounters another doctor who looks exactly like Jae Hee.

Product Information

A man with a genius IQ follows in his father’s footsteps in more ways than one. Park Hoon (Lee Jong Suk) is raised in North Korea to become a doctor by his doctor father, who had defected to South Korea years ago and met his South Korean mother before being captured and returned to North Korea. After Park Hoon becomes an accomplished chest surgeon, he too defects to South Korea and goes to work in the prestigious Dongwoo University Hospital. As he tries to adjust to his strange new life in South Korea, Park Hoon does his best to work alongside Han Jae Joon (Park Hae Jin), a Harvard graduate who first discovers Park Hoon’s talent, while catching the eye of Oh Soo Hyun (Kang So Ra), Jae Joon’s fiancée and the daughter of the hospital chairman.
