RTV (now ATV) was the source of numerous hit TV dramas in the 1970s and 1980s, including the classic wuxia drama Dragon Strikes. After the huge success of Reincarnated, the station followed up in 1979 with another popular period piece Dragon Strikes, again written by novelist Huang Yi and screenwriter Kong Lung. Choreographed by a team that includes Ching Siu Tung, the martial arts action put on screen in Dragon Strikes surpassed even that of Reincarnated. Set in the Ming Dynasty, Dragon Strikes follows swordsman Xiao Yiu Hau and the dangerous power struggle and tangle of corruption and conspiracies he encounters in the royal court and the martial arts world. The drama stars Alex Man, Jason Pai Piao, Law Lok Lam, Candice Yu, and Nancy Sit.

雲飛揚（顧冠忠　飾）與獨孤無敵一戰後身受重傷，被迫與青梅竹馬的傅香君（余安安　飾）分別，香君避走庵堂隱姓埋名。五年過去，師太認為香君塵緣未了，未是時候出家，吩咐她到嵩山少林完成任務，殲滅擾亂武林秩序的白蓮教和南宮世家。崑崙派的安樂侯徐庭封（白彪　飾）亦奉皇上之命，上嵩山剷除天地人三尊邪惡勢力，旅途中遇上香君，加上同道中人小子方真和陸丹
