Holiday (Blu-ray) (Numbering Limited Edition) (Korea Version) Blu-ray Region A
Choi Min Soo
| Lee Sung Jae
| Yang Yun Ho (Director)
It is October 1988 and the city of Seoul has been rejuvenated thanks to the recent Olympic Games. But a few months after this celebration of sport and humanity, the city was sent into shock waves after a daring and, until then, unheard of prison break. Based on the gripping true story, Lee Sung Jae stars as Ji Kang Hyuk, whose neighborhood is destroyed to make way for pre-Olympics re-development. The destruction of their homes incites the people to riot, and Ji loses control after seeing his friend gunned down by police.
Ji finds himself in jail and his life gets even worse when the new prison warden is revealed to be Ahn Seok (Choi Min Soo), the officer who killed his friend. The warden proceeds to make Ji's life a living hell, until he is driven to escape. And shockingly, he succeeds, with the aid of a gang of inmates who help him overpower their armed guards. The nine days that followed have been well-chronicled in the Korean media, as Ji and his gang robbed and rampaged, before holing themselves up with a houseful of hostages to sweat out a long and draining police siege. Ji's immortal statement, "The wealthy are always innocent, while the poor are always guilty" struck a chord with the Korean people and helped Ji's legend live on, long after the siege came to its tragic end.
This edition comes with a postcard set and special features including commentary, highlights, deleted scenes, music video, trailer and photo gallery.
