F.T Island Vol. 1 - Cheerful Sensibility

Combining boy band looks and rock band talents, F.T. Island are Korea's newest and fastest rising stars. Bolstered by the popularity of their M.net variety program Wanna Be Your Boyfriend, the band has already become extremely popular amongst young people. The name F.T. Island, short for Five Treasures Island, refers to the band's five members, with Lee Hong Ki on vocal, Lee Jae Jin on bass, Choi Jung Hun on guitar, Choi Min Hwan on drums, and Oh Won Bin on guitar and vocal. With the members averaging in at only 16 years old, the sky's the limit for this promising band as they release their debut album, Cheerful Sensibitility.

As a sign of F.T. Island's potential and star power, there are some very impressive names attached to the band's debut title. The album is produced by Kim Kwang Su, who has worked with K, SG Wannabe, and See Ya. In addition, Brown Eyes' Yoon Gun, notable songwriter Ryu Jae Hyun, and Tamura Mitsuyoshi, who has produced for SMAP and Porno Graffitti, have also contributed to the album. The 13-track Cheerful Sensibility comes with mellow rock ballads and pop rock numbers that highlight the band's youth and energy.

두가지의 구성.
Emotional Chapter & Island Chapter

Emotional Chapter에서는 대중들의 감성코드를 자극하는 곡들로 꾸며진다. 작곡가 류재현(바이브의 '그 남자 그 여자', '술이야' 등), 얼마전 올스타 앨범을 전곡 프로듀싱 하여 큰 성공을 거둔 조영수(SG워너비의 '아리랑', '내 사람', 씨야의 '미친 사랑의 노래', 이기찬의 '미인' 등), 한성호 프로듀서(더 넛츠의 '잔소리', 서영은, 케이(K), 씨야 등의 앨범을 프로듀싱), 그리고 브라운 아이즈 출신 가수 윤건의 참여로 감성 바이러스로 충만한 곡들로 채워진다. Island Chapter에서는 SMAP, 우타다 히카루, m-flo 등의 일본 최고의 가수들의 곡을 작곡한 일본 유명 작곡가들이 참여하고, 포르노그래피티, SMAP등을 프로듀서한 타무라 미쯔요시가 프로듀서로 참여하였다. 제목부터 생소한“레오레오”“프리마돈다”“FT ISLAND”등 국내에서 보기 힘든 상쾌한 락 넘버들이 주를 이루는 가운데 십대에 누구나 한번쯤은 겪으며 성장했던 청춘의 고민, 첫사랑 그리고 앞으로 그들이 추구할 음악적 방향성을 제시하는 곡들로 가득 채워져 있다.
