【あらすじ】
殺し屋とそのパートナーであるエージェント。ふたりは仕事に私情を持ち込まない流儀でこれまで完璧な関係を築いてきたが、エージェントは密かに殺し屋のアパートを訪ねてはひとり自慰に耽っていた。
ある日仕事に失敗した殺し屋は、そろそろ足を洗いたいと、そのメッセージを行きつけのバーに託し、パートナーである彼女の前から姿を消す。やがて殺し屋は夜のマクドナルドでオレンジ色の髪の女と出会う。実はふたりは以前にも会っていたが、男は彼女を覚えていない。

一方、エージェントが定宿にしている重慶ホテル（マンション）の管理人の息子モウは、5歳のときに期限切れのパイナップル缶を食べすぎたために声を失い、今では夜な夜な他人の店に入り込み勝手な商売を楽しんでいる。ある日、モウは失恋したばかりの女と出会う。
成り行きから、彼女の想い人を横取りした女「金髪のアレン」を一緒に探し歩くうち、モウはいつしか彼女に恋をする。人より遅い初恋の記念日は1995年5月31日。だがその恋はそう簡単には進まない。
別々の場所にいたはずの5人の男女の運命は、やがて複雑に絡み合う。
