YesAsia Editorial Description

This is where it all began. Utada Hikaru released her debut album First Love at the age of 16 in 1999, and it became the best-selling Asian album in history with ten million copies sold. A spectacular introduction to Hikki's unique R&B songwriting style, the landmark album includes classic hits like Automatic, First Love, and Moving on Without You. The unique R&B style in First Love even marked a turning point in Japanese pop history, as it ended up becoming one of the most influential works in contemporary J-pop.

SUPERB Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I had the old version for a long time and still...its still my #1 playlist on my car.
Now its been remastered...and guess what....its becoming more AWESOME!

i can't comment on the songs, because its still "First Love" album with better quality.....and for a fan like me....its a MUST HAVE! im telling you...MUST HAVE!

Maybe in this album Hikki haven't reach her superb potential....but i don't really know because her voice is the best for me and i don't know much about music....:D *Fanboy Alert*

All of her album is AWESOME...but "First Love"? its a LEGEND! once again i'm telling you...for you out there who love Utada Hikaru / Hikki.....ITS A MUST BUY!

:D :D :D

Far from perfect Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
I must honestly say that I don't think that the album as a whole is that good. Some songs are catchy like "Time will tell", "Movin' on without you" and "B&C". "First Love" is beautiful, until the end, where Utada's voice barely survives hitting a high tone. The melody is gorgeous, so it's a shame that her voice can't pull it off. Some of the album tracks were really boring and could have been a lot better. "Give me a reason" sounds nice, it sounds a little sad, but it just repeats on and on with the same thing. It sounds like the person making the song just couldn't make up ANYTHING to make the song more interesting. The interlude was boring. This album could be a lot better, the album tracks feels rushed and not completed.

Theme song for Majo no Jouken Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
"First Love" sang by Utada Hikaru is the theme song for the Japanese tv drama "Majo no Jouken" which stars Takizawa Hideaki (aka Tackey) and Matsushima Nanako. About a 25-year old female high school math teacher, named Michi who falls in love with her 17-year old high school student, named Hikaru. This song is very beautiful and Utada does a great job singing it. She sings with passion. Every time I listen to this song, it makes me want to cry. Every time I hear this song, I think about the struggle that Michi and Hikaru has to endure to protect their love for each other.

Amazing. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
FIRST LOVE was the first album of Utada that I bought. And I have to say, THIS IS HIKKI'S BEST ALBUM YET. This album is amazing, amazing, amAZING. It should be worth a LOT more, with its content, therefore you should buy it now. First Love, her single, is one of the best songs I've listened to in a very long time. I actually like her entire album, and thats rare. Its not common to come upon such a good album, and I strongly recommend it. FIRST LOVE made me buy another album of Utada's :P
