Chow Yun Fat returns as a debonair gambling master for the third film in the blockbuster From Vegas to Macau series. Raking in huge box office during the 2016 Lunar New Year period, From Vegas to Macau III not only brings back Nick Cheung, Carina Lau and Shawn Yue, it also adds Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Chris Lee and even a Psy cameo to form the series' most star-studded installment yet. Reminiscent of the anything-goes Hong Kong comedies of the eighties and nineties, the mash-up gambling caper directed by Wong Jing and Andrew Lau draws laughs through plentiful gags, old-school references and top stars mugging and chewing scenery with obvious delight.

Ken Shek (Chow Yun Fat) is already all torn up about his daughter (Kimmy Tong) and protege (Shawn Yue) getting married, but things quickly go from bad to worse when an explosion leaves the newlyweds comatose on their wedding day. Soon after, Ken and his buddy Mark (Nick Cheung) both get arrested on trumped-up charges and sent to prison. All of this is part of the revenge plan of mad scientist JC (Jacky Cheung), who is in love with Ken's longtime flame and foe Molly (Carina Lau). With the help of Michael "Dagger" Chan (Andy Lau, reprising his God of Gamblers role), Ken and Mark break out of prison, gather up the crew and bide their time for a final casino showdown with JC.

At the wedding of Ken's (Chow Yun Fat) daughter, Rainbow (Kimmy Tong) and his protege, Vincent (Shawn Yue), Michael Chan (Andy Lau), warns Mark (Nick Cheung) that someone wants to kill Ken. Suddenly, an explosion goes off at the wedding. The newlyweds go into a coma from a severe concussion. Enraged, Ken swears to get vengeance. A mysterious tycoon, J.C. (Jacky Cheung) invites Michael and Ko Chun to his birthday party in Thailand. J.C. wants to humiliate Ko at the gambling table; luckily, Ken is smart enough to crack all the tricks along with Michael, Mark and Kitty (Li Yuchun). Realising that his tricks do not work, J.C. drugs Ken unconscious. On the other hand, Michael, Mark, and Kitty find out J.C. is in fact Molly's (Carina Lau) die-hard pursuer and is likely to be the mastermind setting Ken up. Meanwhile, J.C. has brought the unconscious Ken to his high-tech lab to "visit" Molly?
