YesAsia Editorial Description

Legendary screen icon Bruce Lee stars as Billy Lo, a burgeoning martial arts star drawn into a web of corruption in Game of Death! On the verge of becoming a martial arts screen star, Billy Lo is approached by an evil group called The Syndicate to join their illicit endeavors. What does Billy do? He cuts loose with a series of high-pitched wails and kung-fu kicks as only Bruce Lee can deliver! Bruce Lee's final film, Game of Death was partially shot before Lee's tragic death, but completed afterwards with a variety of film techniques, including stock footage and the use of a stand-in (Korean actor Kim Tai Jung) to double for the legendary martial artist. But regardless of the hodgepodge filmmaking, Game of Death qualifies as essential cinema for fans of Bruce Lee thanks to numerous fight sequences, and the famous finale featuring Lee in a series of battles, including one against NBA Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!

Bruce Lee’s last screen work (he died during the production), “Game of Death” is a film that mystifies the man and the legend. Lee plays Billy Lo, a successful movie star, who is shot for refusing to join an international management syndicate. He fakes his own death as an opportunity to pursue the gang in secret. Although the death of Lee inevitably affected the final production of the film, it still contains some of the most unforgettable sequences in the history of cinema. The climax, in which Lee combats different masters of martial arts on each floor as he climbs his way to the top of a pagoda, is a perfect example. And the unique nunchaku battle with Danny Inosanto proves that Lee was years ahead of his time.

Game of Death - 9/10 Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This movie is amazing. Have seen the Cantonese Dub and English Dub of this movie and seem to favour the Cantonese one as that has the feel of a proper Bruce Lee movie. But whichever version you seem to watch, it does not contain many scenes of the legend himself. Instead we get look-a-likes. Don't be put off by this though. The movie is amazing, the fighting scenes are brilliant. Especially the one in the locker room and the one near the beginning where Billy Lo fights the motorcycle group at night. And of course, the official Bruce Lee fight's at the top of the pagoda. You get to see Lee fight Dan Inosanto (not in some prints) Ji Han Jae (only in English and some Mandarin Prints) and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. These fight scenes are totally amazing and go well with John Barry's score. If you looking to buy this movie, try to buy the one in Mandarin or Cantonese. It has some deleted scenes and has Bruce Lee's sound. The English one is dubbed by Chris Kent and doesn't contain Bruce Lee's battle cries. I would give this movie a 10/10 but half-way in they show footage of Bruce Lee's real life funeral which is in very bad taste.

Hapkido Master Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This movie is also a rare chance to see Sin Moo Hapkido grandmaster Ji Han-Jae on film, as he plays one of the villians Bruce Lee must face to ascend the tower.

Game Of Death Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Game Of Death is an excellent movie to watch. Even though many of the scenes in the movie didn't feature Bruce Lee, the movie payed off to be one of my all time favourite Burce Lee movies. I give it 10/10

Is the soundtrack available on CD yet??? Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
The only good part of this movie is the theme song sung by Roman Tam both in Cantonese and Mandarin. I wonder, will both songs ever be available on CD??? I know it was available on LP but it's now OOP. Please advise.
