YesAsia Editorial Description

They may have grabbed attention initially as the girl version of Super Junior, but nine-member girl group Girls' Generation succeeded in winning the hearts of K-pop fans with their own unique appeals. The group made their debut in August with the single Into The World, which stormed to the #1 spot on the chart within two months of its release. The girls now release their first self-titled album, Girls' Generation.

The titular track Girls' Generation (Track 1) is a remake of Lee Seung Chul's 1989 hit of the same name. Rearranged by accomplished composer Kenzie, the song appeals to both young and older generations, offering tunes reminiscent of the 1980s and full of youthful energy and funk. Other noteworthy tracks include the lively, rhythmic Ooh La-La! (Track 2) composed by Lee Jae Myung, house dance number Kissing You (Track 5), and Baby Baby (Track 3), a sweet confession of love written by Hwang Sung Je, whose previous works include BoA's "Atlantis Girl". Also, lyrical ballads such as Tears (Track 7) and Complete (Track 4) offer the group's nine colorful vocals in perfect transparent harmony. Girls' Generation aims to be a new generation representing all generations.

One of my favourite SNSD albums! :) Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I love all the tracks on this album! It saved me from buying their 1st album, and debut single on their own since this album has the title songs in it :D
The packaging may not be anything special but I really like the concept and photobook even though it's a pretty average size the pictures are simple yet nice :)
If you're a SONE definitely buy this album!
And if you're not a SONE... You should still buy this album! :D

great album did not disappoint Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
absolutely love this album. thought the packaging is a little lackluster compared to current kpop albums, the photography and concept were great and the photobook was gorgeous. worth every penny.

this album is sweet bubblegum pop that is definitely worth every penny! great for easy listening and relaxing. i love the simplicity of it and how well all the tracks flow together. in no way, shape or form does it disappoint! i would recommend this as a must buy for all soshi fans and as a great first listen for people just getting to know them!

Let's go 소녀시대!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
So I also purchased this repackaged and here are some of my opinions:

'Kissing you- Skool Rock remix', in my opinion, was definitely better than the original-at some point-as it showed a ruffier side to the ever-cute track. Still, it wasn't really a smooth remix, though.

The short and long versions of 'Let's go 소녀시대!!' are basically just songs that contain different parts from the other tracks of the album, not even to be considered a remix since they just simply connected (very smoothly though) these parts together. Still, it will make a great ringback tune or a great theme song for your Girls' Generation fanvid :)

About the packaging, I like how the girls' outfits were so un-unique and casual yet they matched each other so well, so it looked quite cute together. Plus, I've always been into soft-colored feminine outfits and especially doll-shoes with cute tiny bows on it ♥

The CD front design was of a pair of legs (from knees down) with white under-knee stockings and browny pink doll-shoes. However, I don't like how the photos were focused on the girls' legs :|. This is not appropriate for such a young group of girls! Still, all the other individual shots of the girls, standing on a wood floor and with a white wall as background, are pretty. They all looked so innocent and sweet :).

Not really a recommended, but you can always have it, if you're a fan :)

Honey, I'll be you Tinkerbell ♥ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
About the packaging, I just wanna say it's really pretty. Main color is rose pink of course. The CD front has a beautiful design with the famous "GG-with-a-crown-on-top" symbol. The concept is totally "dolls" and to tell the truth, though I've seen many other girlgroups trying to pull this concept, Girls' Generation is no doubt the best. Mostly the booklet was individual shots of the girls as dolls. I really adore, and wonder how they can make such a blank, doll-like stare and posing exactly like real dolls like that. Half the booklet, the girls transformed into luxurious, princess-ish dolls but each still has her own different charms (That's what I appreciate from Girls' Generation ladies, they may have 9 members, but they are still 9 seperate individuals). And the other half, they portraited a doll-set, all wearing matching white polo shirts and pink skirt-like shorts, playing croquet. And there was also a few group shots where the girls turn back to look lively! Really, I love dolled-up Girls' Generation! It's like they were born to do it :)

The album was absolutely pretty, and this is a total must-have for all S♥NEs!

Ooh-la-la! It's a Merry-Go-Round ♥ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Just as expected from Girls' Generation!

(Girls' Generation)', 'Baby Baby' and 'Kissing You' are like the you-know-what typical Girls' Generation songs: catchy melody, cutesy image and lots of aegyo. But it's still orginal since Girls' Generation is like one of the first Korean girlgroups which scored at the concept.

'Ooh La-La!' and 'Tinkerbell' are the second-level-of-Girls'-Generation's-cutesy-tracks. With even more aegyo and brighter, sweeter melody. Guess they are pulling on the baby girl concept. Which they're the best at it so far, in my opinion :). Still, while the former is the typical aegyo as mentioned, the latter, mixed with ballad traits, is definitely softer.

'Complete' and '그대를 부르면 (Tears)' showed another side of Girls' Generation as they are soulful, tender ballads which showed off the girls' vocal skills, especially of the main vocalists like the Taeyeon, Jessica and Tiffany. But while the former is delightful, the latter is more sorrowful, yet both are sweet and smooth.

'Merry-go-round' is my personal favourite track, as it sounded like a sweet, loving lullaby to my ears. The melody was beautiful and so was how the girls sang it. The honey-like vocals of the girls just add to the soothing sweetness of the song and I love it. One track you all should give a try ♥

'7989' was a nice duet of Kangta and Taeyeon. Of course, it's ballad. Still, not really one of my favourites, it just adds a new breath to the album :)

(Into the new world)' are also included in this CD.
