Eight years after director Nakamura Yoshihiro's Japanese film adaptation, Isaka Kotaro's suspense novel Golden Slumber hits the silver screen again in Korea! Directed by No Dong Seok (Boys of Tomorrow), the crime action thriller stars Kang Dong Won (Master) as the hapless hero who gets drawn into a wild conspiracy. Golden Slumber's star-studded cast also includes Han Hyo Ju (The Beauty Inside), Kim Eui Sung (1987: When the Day Comes), Kim Sung Kyun (The Prison), Kim Dae Myung (Bluebeard), Yoo Jae Myung ( A Day), Kim Yoo Jung (Thread of Lies), Jung So Min (Daddy You, Daughter Me), Yoon Kye Sang (The Outlaws) and Choi Woo Shik (Train go Busan).
Deliveryman Kim Gun Woo (Kang Dong Won) is celebrated as a national hero after saving a pop star. His high school bandmate Moo Yeol (Yoon Kye Sang) visits him at work, and they witness a terrorist bombing that kills a presidential candidate. Moo Yeol then tells Gun Woo that the incident is a set-up and everyone will come after him right away. He reminds Gun Woo not to trust anyone and then commits suicide. Gun Woo's world turns upside down as the crisis unfolds and he gets falsely accused of assassinating the presidential candidate out of the blue.
