Director Nakamura Yoshihiro takes on his most ambitious project yet with Golden Slumber, his third adaptation of author Isaka Kotaro's literary works after the multi-generational Fish Story. Shot entirely in Isaka's favorite city Sendai, Golden Slumber (named after the Beatles song) is a suspenseful man-on-the-run thriller with a few twists that have already made the film a critical and commercial hit in Japan. Nakamura has gathered an all-star cast that includes Sakai Masato (Climber's High) as the man on the run, as well as Takeuchi Yuko (Be With You), Kagawa Teruyuki (Tokyo Sonata), Emoto Akira (April Bride), and Omori Nao (I Just Didn't Do It), who are all here to help send the man back on the right path homeward.

Aoyogi (Sakai Masato) is just your typical delivery truck driver with a small heroic deed in his past. On the day the Japanese Prime Minister visits Sendai, Aoyogi meets an old college friend near the parade route. Suddenly, the Prime Minister is assassinated, and Aoyogi becomes the prime suspect. Now on the run, Aoyogi fights to stay alive and prove his innocence. Faced with a large-scale conspiracy stemming from near the very top of the government, Aoyogi is going to need help to survive, and he'll get it from the most unlikely of people, including old college sweetheart Haruko (Takeuchi Yuko) and a possible serial killer (Hamada Gaku, The Foreign Duck, the Native Duck, and God in a Coin Locker).
