Gangneung, a city on the eastern coast of South Korea, is the backdrop for a meaningful chance encounter in David Cho's Guest House. Jung Woo (Kim Sung Je) runs a guesthouse in Gangneung with his older sister, but his dream is to become an actor. Whenever he has the chance, he goes to auditions and hopes to escape Gangneung. One day, Hiroko (Chisun) appears at the guesthouse. A former Japanese national curling player, she's in town for a special broadcast about the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. At his sister's behest, Jung Woo shows Hiroko around and he learns the real reason why Hiroko has come to Gangneung.
