YesAsia Editorial Description

It's been four months since Koda's last single Miracle, and her first release of 2005 is hands, her fourteenth single. The title track of the same name is a slow love song ideal for the moody winter. With lyrics "I wanted you to keep me in your hands. I want to go back to the day we held hands for the first time", Koda's extraordinary singing skills expresses a girl's lament over lost love extremely well. This B-side of the single "Through the sky" is a grand ballad.

This edition comes with a dvd, which contains the MV of "hands" and the making of the MV.

Simply Stunning Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
One of Koochan's most emotional ballads to date and the video that ultimately started my hand fetish. (laughs)

The song is absolutely gorgeous and Koda Kumi puts so much raw emotion behind her voice, it marked the stage for what would define many of her later ballads. The video is simple, but beautiful. Koda Kumi really starts to mature into the R&B genre, which is why when she made the transition to pop, it was a bit shocking, to say the least.

The b-side is 'Through the Sky' and is another ballad with a classic feel. It's very jazz-oriented, which she has always excelled at. Her voice in this song has a very smooth element and by the time the chorus opens up, you feel yourself overcome with so many emotions. You're amazed at her voice, her passion and about to breakdown in tears.

This is a beautiful single and one that long-time Kuu-fans should know and have a copy of. If you're just getting into Koda Kumi or you're not sure, then check out this single and you'll see she is able to so much more than just a 'sexy' image.

Hands Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
After the controversial "Girls ~Selfish" DVD single, Ku returns to the ballads with "Hands," a despondent, broken-hearted lament. Ku expresses the emotions behind this song really well; she truly sounds as if she's on the verge of tears.

The B-side is ballad "Through the Sky," which was used as the closing theme for J-Drama "The Sunday."

Beautiful.. Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Wow Hands was just so moving n so touching. It sounded so sad when I heard the music, and then when I saw the music video of it..i was so like blown away from the sadness from seeing the song in motion. Usually when artists r trying to express sadness of some sort, it looks false n all fake, till i saw this work of Koda, it was amazing n so sad, it wasn't fake at all, there was emotions of deep despair n sadness..In a way it was like i was watching my myself really since i can relate to this song itself... overall this song was amazing n now i've decided this to be my theme song, just beautiful...

Hands is a really nice song that blew me away when I first heard it. It's very powerful. I think it's Kumi's best song yet.
