November 27, 2006 First Review! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I'm surprised that I'm the first reviewer for something. Very well, then. This album is a treat to listen to, and all of you should buy it, but not because of the Fullmetal theme 'Tobira no Mukou e.' While that song is a highlight of this album, it doesn't sum up the whole album. Starting with 'YELLOW' and ending with a surprising remix of 'Tobira no Mukou e' this is not to be missed! The best songs are (of course) 'Tobira no Mukou e,' (track 2) 'Utakata' (track 3), 'Lemonade,' 'Yozora ni Saku Hana ~eternal place~' and 'Owari no Naimichi (track 11).' I would've given it a 10 if 'Listen!' hadn't ruined it for me. But don't let that stop you from buying this album. ^^

November 5, 2006 Well Worthy Single Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This single was a bonus with my order of 'A Song for XX' and I was very happy about it! Endless sorrow is a wonderful and emotional song and I love it so. The vogue and NEVER EVER remixes are good, but there are two remixes that shouldn't have been made: the Natural Green Dub Mix and the Rami's Advance Mix. Those weren't horrible, but they weren't that good either. The rest of the remixes are great, and my favorites are the nicely nice skyblue mix and the Juicy Ariyama mix. This is worth getting just for those remixes.

November 5, 2006 The One That Started It All! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Yes, I have finally heard Ayu's first album! This is THE ONE that started her superstardom! The composition of the music is different, but that's what makes it interesting and great! The best tracks are the title song, FRIEND, poker face, Wishing, YOU, As if..., Trust, Depend on you, and For My Dear...
Don't hesitate to buy this wonderful album NOW!

October 31, 2006 Beginning of the Best Band Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Do As Infinity is my favorite band of all time, hands down. They are the No Doubt of Japan, but better! I just received the Limited Version of this album from a seller in Japan who had it for a reasonable price. This Limited Version has two bonus tracks: Chiryuku Yu-be and an acoustic version of Oasis.
I think it's a fantastic and phenomenal start to a J-Pop legend. It may not have sold as well as their other albums, but it's still wonderful. My favorites are 'Oasis', 'Another', 'Heart', 'Raven', 'Painful', 'Tangerine Dream', and 'Yesterday and Today'. Not to say that the bonus tracks weren't good! They were great! I loved the acoustic version of Oasis! Acoustic versions always bring out the inner beauty of a song. Chiriyuku Yu-be is a song I am very lucky to hear. It's great! ^_^

October 31, 2006 Yumeni sugari tsuku Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
The above means "we still cling to our dreams." Even after the 15+ songs I've heard from ELT, Grip! still remains my favorite song from this band. It's also my favorite Inuyasha theme song. yurayura is also an Inuyasha theme - it's played in the credits of the second movie. If Grip! is my fav song from ELT, why a 9? It's because of yurayura. The rating is a notch down because that song's not quite as catchy as other ELT songs I've heard. But it's still a good song. Still worthy of listening. Buy this single now! It's worth it!

    October 28, 2006 Memorable Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ayu's mini-album isn't mini to me! It's...no words can describe it! Wow! I love it! If you don't feel like getting 'Duty' first, then get this as your first Ayu purchase! It's THAT great! From 'ANGEL'S SONG' to the title track, nothing boring is being played! The best songs in my opinion are 'HANABI~episode II~' and 'forgiveness.'

    September 12, 2006 I'm sorry Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
But Gackt just doesn't appeal to me. I've heard at least 4 of his songs, and I just...sorry, I don't like him that much. I can understand why others do. DEEP DEEP voices like that are freaky...but I'm just saying!

    August 28, 2006 A Worthy Buy Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
However, this is supposed to showcase the top artists/hits of J-Pop, and guess what? Ayumi Hamasaki and Hikaru Utada are two of the top J-Pop stars today, and they're not featured!
Moving on...At first, I liked every song on there, and then eventually... 'TRUE BLUE' and 'INVOKE' started to bore me, I didn't like 'Strawberry Sex' and 'Step To The New World' and then, horribly, 'Carpe Diem' started skipping!!!
Moving on once more...this compilation got me into Tommy February6/heavenly6, the brilliant green, Mika Nakashima, Nami Tamaki, and Hyde. Buy the CD just because it's J-Pop and it has 'Sobakasu' (which I had been DYING to get for awhile) on it!!!

August 22, 2006 Perfect, But... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It's only #2 on my list of Ayu albums. I eagerly anticipated listening to the whole album because of everyone's high reviews of it, saying that it's her best and all that. The first track ("I am...") wasn't the perfect beginning song (it should have been in the middle of the album), but it was still a good song. UNITE! wasn't what I expected...I expected something extremely upbeat, still good. Evolution is my favorite Ayu song, always has been from the first day I heard it long long ago. Naturally, NEVER EVER, and still alone are great. Daybreak was good, but somehow the vocals in the first couple of verses didn't quite match the music... I LOVE M. A Song is born is wonderful. Dearest and no more words happened to be the first two Ayu songs I heard (well, duh, they were 'Inuyasha' themes), so they have a special place in my heart. The remix of Endless sorrow is much better than the original, I must admit. Overall, the only weak tracks are I am... and Daybreak, but they don't affect the perfection of the album. This is the album to get after you get "Duty."

August 22, 2006 Her Best So Far Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
No matter what people say about "I am...", it didn't top this album. I've heard this, "I am...", "MY STORY" and "(miss)understood) and this ranks #1 on my list of Ayu albums. All the songs are perfectly done, and I don't skip any songs. My favorites are vogue, SCAR, SURREAL, Far away, SEASONS, and teddy bear. (ha, I like the whole trilogy) If you haven't heard a whole album of Ayu's and just a few songs, but not sure which album to get as an introductory...this is the one!

    August 21, 2006 NICE! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
To some people, Puffy AmiYumi are annoying, but I think they're awesome! This album was my first ever Japanese CD purchase (and it was at Tower Records in Memphis), and I was instantly addicted, with songs like Tokyo Nights, Thank You, Long Beach Nightmare, Your Love is a Drug, and Red Swing being really catchy! I have the USA version, which comes with the Teen Titans theme, and two versions of Red Swing (Planet Tokyo). This is a must-buy, guaranteed to be instantly loved by all Jpop fans (or any music fans for that matter)!!!

August 6, 2006 Zoning Out Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
'A BALLADS' contains new mixes of old favorites and two exclusive tracks ('RAINBOW' and 'Sotsugyou Shashin'). I have a deep love for this album because I think she truly shines through her beautiful ballads. I don't have a specifically favorite song on this album because I love them all! But...if I really have to pick, I'd say that 'Voyage' is my favorite. Don't be fazed by the cover - it's just herself! It's also a good CD to zone out to. ^^

    August 6, 2006 Special Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was the first Ayu purchase I ever made (at a Denver Asian store), so this album holds a very special place in my heart. This album is flawless, and contains some of my favorite songs by Ayu. The transitions from song-to-song are really smooth, and the intro and interludes are good to listen to as well! My favorite song off this album is 'my name's WOMEN' and my favorite music video (I only have the album but I've seen every video of the singles) is 'Moments.' Overall, it's worth buying!

August 6, 2006 The Magic Is Not Lost Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
My second purchase at an Asian store in Denver. I had heard almost every single except for 'alterna' and had a very good feeling about the CD. I loved it! It was great inspiration/motivation music for my writings! Every song has something special, but my favorite song off this album is 'STEP you' and my favorite video on the DVD is 'fairyland' (followed closely by 'rainy day'). '(miss)understood' shows that Ayu has not lost any of the magic she brings out in her music.
