睽違三年，G.E.M. 鄧紫棋於北京正乙祠宣布發行第五張、亦是首張視聽專輯《新的心跳》。古老的戲樓遇見新的歌者; 在音樂進化歷程中，她的音樂擔當着的角色，全由聽眾決定。這張專輯“視聽合一”：每首新歌都搭配一首同名MV，MV由全球精英導演為鄧紫棋量身打造，讓音樂不僅能被聽到，還能被看到; 打開全部感官，讓聽覺及視覺同步體驗音樂。
發佈會以一段「音樂進化歷程」開場，短片中鄧紫棋帶出《新的心跳》的創作要素: 十首歌的詞曲創作全部由鄧紫棋一手包辦，整張專輯創作和製作過程歷時三年；十首歌均由Lupo Groinig 製作，保證了一貫高水準。

對這張見證了自己最近三年經歷的新專輯，鄧紫棋充滿感情。在這三年中，她的人生迎來最戲劇化的改變: 「我去過很多地方、見過很多面孔。失去過深愛的、也收穫到珍貴的。這一次包辦專輯裡全部的詞曲創作，就是因為有太多交集的心情和深刻的故事，讓我對世界有了新的發現，也讓我的生命有了新的心跳。」
