Directed by Shinohara Tetsuo (Flower and Sword), Inubu! is based on Katano Yuka's nonfiction book about an animal rescue group that existed at the Kitasato University School of Veterinary Medicine. Hayashi Kento, Nakagawa Taishi, Ohara Sakurako and Asaka Kodai star in this moving drama about the dreams and struggles of veterinary students who dedicate themselves to saving animals.

A big dog lover since he was a kid, university student Hanai Sota (Hayashi Kento) studies veterinary medicine, and lives in a small apartment full of animals he saved. Even if other people think he's weird, he's committed to protecting animal life. One day, after rescuing an experimental dog, he comes up with the idea to form an Inubu club to help more animals. Shibasaki Ryosuke (Nakagawa Taishi) and other animal-loving classmates join Inubu, and they spend their youth together saving animals and pursing their dreams. After university, Sota goes on to work at a veterinary clinic while Shibasaki chooses to go to an animal welfare center. Sixteen years later, the members of Inubu learn that Sota has been arrested.
