Directed by Sekine Kosai (Love At Least), Kakushigoto is a heart-wrenching human mystery drama driven by a mother's intense love and lies. Based on the novel Uso by Kitakuni Koji, the Japanese film stars Watanabe Anne, Okuda Eiji and child actor Nakasu Toma.
Writer Chisako (Watanabe Anne) returns to her hometown to take care of her father (Okuda Eiji) who has Alzheimer's. She comes upon a boy (Nakasu Toma) who has lost his memory and shows signs of abuse. To protect him, Chisako lies and says she is his mother. What begins as a pseudo-parent-child relationship soon becomes like a real parent-child relationship – until the boy's father shows up.
