Lee Byung Hun (The Fortress) and Park Jung Min (Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet) form an unlikely brotherly bond in Keys to the Heart. Award-winning veteran Youn Yuh Jung (The Bacchus Lady) plays the two brothers' mother in the moving family comedy-drama. Created by Ode to My Father's production team, Keys to the Heart marks the directorial debut of Choi Sung Hyun, the screenwriter of The Fatal Encounter. Han Ji Min (The Age of Shadows), Choi Ri (Spirits' Homecoming), Kim Sung Ryung (The Target), Hwang Suk Jung (Memoir of a Murderer) and Moon Sook (Tunnel) appear in supporting roles.

Jo Ha (Lee Byung Hun) was once a famous boxing champion but he is now a day-to-day worker struggling to make ends meet. One day, he re-encounters his long-lost mother In Sook (Youn Yuh Jung), who left home 17 years ago to escape her abusive husband. Though Jo Ha is still resentful of his irresponsible mother, he decides to live with her in order to save money. He soon discovers that he has a half-brother called Jin Tae (Park Jung Min), who is an autistic savant. Jin Tae is good at playing video games and cooking instant noodles. What's more, he is a piano prodigy who can play songs by ear.

A welterweight WBC Asian champion in his heyday, Jo-ha (LEE Byung-hun) is down on his luck and has nowhere to go. He makes ends meet by sparring for other boxers and by distributing flyers on the streets. One day, he accidentally reunites with his mother In-sook (YOUN Yuh-jung) for the first time in 17 years and moves in with her. There, he meets his unexpected half-brother Jin-tae (PARK Jung-min), whom he didn't know existed.
Although he has level 2 autism, Jin-tae cooks ramen incredibly well, plays video games like no other, and is a savant when it comes to playing the piano. Jo-ha isn't too fond of his new brother, who always responds to his questions with a simple 'yup'. But in order to put together some money to move abroad, he has to help out around the house and get to know him?
