울림 엔터테인먼트의 첫 번째 걸 그룹- 러블리즈가 데뷔 앨범 [Girls’ Invasion]을 발표했다.
K-POP에서 가장 존경 받는 작곡가 윤상이 생애 처음으로 맡은 걸그룹의 앨범으로 알려지며 발매 전부터 앨범의 퀄리티에 대해 주목 받은 러블리즈의 생애 첫 데뷔 앨범 [Girl’s Invasion]이 공개되었다.
타이틀 곡 ‘Candy Jelly Love’는 음악만 들어도 캔디, 젤리 같은 달콤한 맛들이 느껴지는 곡이다. 윤상 본인은 “음악이 아니라 마치 달콤한 음식을 만들 듯 사운드의 하나하나를 세심히 골랐다”고 작업을 설명했고 그 결과 러블리즈라는 사랑스러운 그룹에 딱 맞는 데뷔 곡이 완성되었다. ‘Candy Jelly Love’의 뮤직비디오는 DigiPedi가 연출을 맡아 교실을 배경으로 러블리즈만의 독특하고 엉뚱한 매력을 화면에 담아냈다.
지난 10일에 선공개된 ‘어제처럼 굿나잇’은 대중에 첫 선을 보이는 여자 아이돌이라고 생각할 수 없을 만큼 완성형 음악을 들려주며 각종 음원 차트에서 좋은 성적으로 결과를 보여주었다. “어른들의 발라드 음악은 세상에 많지만 진짜 소녀들의 발라드 음악은 거의 없었던 것 같다”라며 윤상이 만든 작곡팀 OnePiece와 김이나 작사가는 소녀가 느끼는 이별에 대한 첫 감정을 소리로 표현하려 노력했다.
‘이별 Chapter 1’은 제목만 봐선 슬픈 발라드 노래 같지만 심지어 신나기까지 한 팝 댄스 음악이다. 마이너 코드와 메이저 코드를 자연스럽게 변주하며 이별에 대한 복잡한 감정을 소녀스럽게 풀어냈다. 마구 슬프다가도 순식간에 웃음 꽃이 피어나는 사춘기 소녀 같은 음악이다.
‘비밀여행’은 부모님 몰래 남자 친구와 여행을 떠나는 소녀의 모습을 포착했다. 그래봤자 사실은 멀리 떠날 수도 없지만 마음만은 먼 곳으로 떠나는 기분일 것이라는 생각에 이국적인 느낌의 멜로디와 시부야케이의 리듬 등을 차용하여 음악을 완성했다.
그리고 러블리즈는 그동안 3년여에 걸쳐 발표했던 러블리즈 멤버들의 싱글 트랙들을 첫 정규 앨범에 담았다. 휘성과의 듀엣으로 보컬리스트로서의 매력을 선보였던 베이비소울의 ‘남보다 못한 사이’, 베이비소울과 케이가 러블리즈 버전으로 재녹음한 ‘그녀는 바람둥이야’, 유지애와 스윗튠이 만나 달콤한 설레임을 음악에 담았던 ‘Delight’와 뮤비 공개 당시 엑소 시우민의 출연으로 화제가 되었던 진의 ‘너만 없다’까지 공개되었던 모든 트랙을 다시 러블리즈에 맞게 믹스를 다시 해 수록하는 정성을 쏟았다.
앨범의 마스터링은 국내 최고의 엔지니어 최효영 기사와 영국 Metropolis의 세계적인 엔지니어 Stewart hawks가 동시에 달라 붙어 러블리즈의 첫 걸음에 노력을 아끼지 않았다.

I bought this album for 'Goodnight like yesterday', a modern classic. However, I am pleased to report that all the songs are good. I hope Lovelyz release an acapella album, they are so talented!

A repackage that kills the original! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10

I received my albums around 20 days after I ordered them. (Sweden, Europe). It usually takes 7-14 days. This was due to many holidays were post offices weren’t working.
Lovelyz is back with cuteness and style. And I love it.

- Package & Album -
My albums usually comes inside a cardboard box but this time they arrived in a white thick envelope. However they were tightly wrapped in MANY layers of bubble wrap. It felt like I spent an eternity just unwarping tons of bubble wrap. I’m honestly amazed about how much bubble wrap they managed to fit in one envelope. So yeah, my albums were secured inside of their envelope!
This album includes a randomly selected bonus gift (a calender or photocard-set). I got the photocard-set and I loved every single picture inside of it!
Once again Woollim made me speechless with the perfection of the physical album. It was beautiful. I thought that the original ”Girls’ Invasion” was amazing – and this one kills that one COMPLETELY! It’s very clever and the design is neat and pretty, I won’t spoil to much because it really is a dream to look at!

You can read my thoughts on the songs from the original album down below in my review of “Girls’ Invasion”. To be honest, I was excepting quite a lot with the release of “Hi~”. Lovelyz had proved to be one of my overall favorite rookies and I honestly love the members and the layout of this album – but “Hi~” wasn’t an impressive song in my mind. It was good but it wasn’t my style and I haven’t really been listening to it since I watched their live performances because I don’t really like it. However I loved “Joyland”, that song is double thumbs up and I love how much they’ve been promoting it lately. Overall I think the extra songs in this repackage are good, not the best, but they’re good – and the packaging definitely makes up for the lack of perfected songs.

- Overall -
If you’re thinking about buying a version of Lovelyz’ “Girls’ Invasion” you should by this repackaged version. Both versions are brilliant and beautiful but this one doesn’t only give you extra song – the visual is to die for.

I received my albums around a month days after I ordered them. (Sweden, Europe). It usually takes 7-14 days. This was since I didn't order them before the recommended date before Christmas, so they took a little longer to arrive, but I didn't bother since I was rather busy. I actually got them a month ago (ordered them around 2 months ago).
The debut of the Woollim girls have been my dream for a long time now – and it finally happened!

- Package & Album -
I ordered this album together with four other albums and they came wrapped in a thick layer of bubble wrap. Neither of the albums has any visible injuries (and out of all the albums I've bought from YesAsia, which is quite many, only one have had an injury). The bubble wrapped albums came in a cardboard box.
Woollim always blows me away when it comes to their packaging of albums. I have many Infinite albums and they’re all so unique and beautiful. And Lovelyz’ “Girls’ Invasion” doesn’t break that trend. The album has pretty simple layout, mainly white with pink details that shimmer in light. Other than that the album comes with a rather thick photobook with lovely photographs of the girls and TWO photocards (or postcards). I got Baby Soul and Jiae. This album is one of the most high-quality albums layout wise together with labelmate Infinite’s “Season 2” and “Be Back”.

Lovelyz debut album features a few solo tracks from members JIN, Jiae and Baby Soul, all three has released solo work prior to their debut with Lovelyz. The title song is Candy Jelly Love and it has to be the sweetest song ever. The song matches perfectly with the girls voices and personalites, and when everything match that well it just becomes perfection. 어제처럼 굿나잇 was the pre-release song to their debut, and it’s also my favorite song on the album. It’s a wonderful ballad-like song, and I love ballads!

- Overall -
BTS’ “2 Cool 4 Skool” have been my favorite debut-album since they debuted. However Lovleyz just stole that number one spot. This album is not only perfection for the eye, but for your ears. I have no complaint on this album. It’s just everything that I’ve wanted from Woollim Girls.
