YesAsia Editorial Description

A great job as the manager of a world-class hotel, all the money you could ask for, and the respect of your peers. But does that mean happiness? For Hyun Seo (Ahn Jae Wook of Star in My Heart), life was much easier before he met Young In (Lee Bo Young of Seo Dong Yo). Thanks to her, he finally understands what was missing from his seemingly perfect, yet perfectly empty, life. He begins to appreciate the little things, value sincerity and sentiments. Perhaps it's never too late to find happiness, even for someone who must say good-bye.

Though the setup may seem familiar, Mr. Goodbye is more than just another rich-boy-meets-poor-girl story. Ahn Jae Wook and Lee Bo Young paint living, breathing characters that the audience immediately connects with. Dropping the theatrics in favor of realistic characters and emotions, Mr. Goodbye slowly unfolds an unforgettable story that lingers long after it ends.

Product Information

Director: Hwang Duui Kyung

“Mr. Good-Bye” is a story about the last love of a dying man, Hyeon-seo, who had to live in loneliness after losing his both foster parents but eventually succeeded as a hotelier. He finally finds happiness when he returns to Korea, where he learns that he has a son from a woman who loves him and finally meets his biological mother. The series also sarcastically portrays good and evil of the human world with a hotel as the background. The series also depicts how hotel concierges help hotel customers heal their spiritual wounds. The upbeat and outgoing Young-in, one of the concierges, teaches Hyeon-seo the meaning of love and fights for his love with Su-jin, a doctor.

For Better or Worse Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
"They who are happy don't see watch often"- Hyun Seo
This drama is worth buying/renting...LOVE IT! However, I won't grade it as 10 because I kind of lost the parts regarding the misterious folded note contain an address (what address, who sent it) and the last letter received by Hyun Seo's biological mother (from who, regarding what) because of the not so good translation to English.
I don't want the story to end where it ends. I feel sad for Yong In and I don't want Hyun Seo to die that fast. Well...this drama is not happy ending but the storyline is beautiful. Thanks to the wonderful acting of AJW and LBY.

A practical love story Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Ahn Jae Wook shines here as a cold, merciless hotel tycoon who slogs mindlessly to reign in the hotel industry. Having no time for frivolous things like love and leisure,.his single-minded pursuit of his career is interrupted only when he meets Lee Bo Young, an ordinary and simple girl whom he falls in love with. His nickname, Mr Goodbye, was given to him because of the practical and cold blooded manner in which he takes over and revamps hotels. It is the hotels that he goes into. This drama portrays how Ahn Jae Wook's character slowly unthaws and learns about love, mercy and the little things that make life meaningful after he falls in love, discovers that he has son and that he has a serious heart condition. This is also a great love story with great chemistry between the leads. Ever the practical person that Ahn's character is, he does not pursue love in a mushy unrealistic way. His motto for their relationship is: If you have doubts, clarify. Do not doubt the other party. It wastes time and is unproductive. A great evil conniving, memory loss and so forth. I must also mention that the little boy who plays his son is terrific and the father-son relationship is very touching. This drama is worth buying and I must say that it is one of the dramas that I have enjoyed out of Korea in 2006.

Ok Movie Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
This movie is just ok. The combination of Jae and Lee Bo Young is quite good. Although i felt that in a way she is too pretty for her role.

Jae as expected did a pretty good job playing as a hotel president. The young chap who played as Jae's son really looks like him, good choice of child actor.
Overall, the movie is ok
