２０１１年邦画Ｎｏ．１の大ヒットとなったスタジオジブリ最新作『コクリコ坂から』の制作現場にＮＨＫ取材班が１０ヶ月にわたり密着したメイキング・ドキュメンタリー／本作『ＮＨＫ　ふたり／コクリコ坂・父と子の３００日戦争〜宮崎　駿×宮崎吾朗〜』は２人の人物の絆を描く新しいドキュメンタリー番組として、２０１１年７月の『コクリコ坂から』の劇場公開に併せて製作され、２０１１年８月にＮＨＫで放送されました。２０１１年７月１６日に公開された映画『コクリコ坂から』は１９６３年の横浜を舞台に、親子２世代にわたる青春を描いています。企画・脚本を担当したのは巨匠・宮崎駿。監督はその長男、宮崎吾朗。２０１１年の邦画Ｎｏ．１の成績を残したこの作品は、ふたりにとって初めての合作です。その制作現場に１０ヶ月にわたりカメラが密着しました。
