William Chan and Bai Baihe fall into a complicated love story in the romantic melodrama Only Side by Side with You. Based on Xiaohu Ruwei's novel Nan Fang You Qiao Mu, the series co-stars Li Xian (Tientsin Mystic), Michelle Bai (Ice Fantasy) and award-winning actress Amanda Qin.

Nan Qiao (Bai Baihe), the third daughter of the Nan family, is a drone designer and CEO of a tech company. Thanks to a setup by childhood friend Jianhong (Li Xian), Nan Qiao discovers her fiancé is cheating on her and breaks off the engagement. When her fiancé threatens to divest his investment, Nan Qiao heads to a bar to see an investor and ends up meeting the mysterious bar owner Shi Yue (William Chan). Shi Yue realizes that Nan Qiao may be connected to an incident in his past and decides to get close to her. He originally intended to just use Nan Qiao to investigate the incident that changed his life, but he falls helplessly in love with her.
