Inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's Übermensch, or "Overman," concept of the ideal superior man of the future, award-winning short film director Seo Eun Young encourages people to move forward despite hardships in her feature debut Overman. The indie coming-of-age romance was invited to the 2015 Seoul Independent Film Festival and the 20th Busan International Film Festival, where it won the Daemyung Culture Wave Award. Kim Go Woon (My Brilliant Life) and newcomer Kim Jung Hyun land the lead roles in this high school love story.
High school gymnast Do Hyun (Kim Jung Hyun) gets into a fight at school and is punished with community service at a local public library. While working in the library, he encounters Soo Hyun (Kim Go Woon), a schoolgirl who always borrows a lot of books. At first, Soo Hyun isn't interested in Do Hyun but she is moved by his jolly spirit. The two soon form an intimate friendship and help each other overcome their pain.
