Crooked cop Gao (Aaron Kwok) just lost his mother and he is under internal investigation at work. While rushing to his mother's funeral, he accidentally runs over a man on an empty road. In a moment of desperation, Gao hides the body in his trunk, and then his own mother's coffin. A few days later, he is shocked to come across the victim's profile in an ongoing case that may eventually lead back to him and his cover-up. Before Gao can figure out what's going on, another mysterious cop (Wang Qianyuan) suddenly appears to blackmail him – and demand the return of the body.

母親驟逝，趕著前往奔喪的警察高見翔(郭富城 飾)，一整天諸事不順，先是與同僚的私下貪汙被查獲，心煩氣躁之下竟不慎撞死路人，手足無措的他，居然突發奇想將屍體藏在剛過世的母親的棺材裡，打算悄悄解決這件意外。但沒想到才剛銷假歸隊，就被任命協助追查跨國毒品案，而警方全力緝捕的對象，竟是那天意外撞死的無名屍…。

心知緝捕對象已死亡的高見翔，隨著同僚前往埋伏並撲空後，還來不及放下心中大石，馬上就接到一通「神秘」的報案電話，舉報目擊高警官撞死通緝犯的經過，害怕事情曝光的高見翔找到了舉報人，竟然是緝毒組的刑警陳昌民(王千源 飾)，這個半路殺出的程咬金，對高見翔簡直聊若指掌，威脅加利誘的要高見翔將撞死的屍體交出來，到底這具屍體藏著什麼樣不可告人的秘密，讓所有人都陷入局中…。
