Two patriots on different missions go from strangers to a fake married couple in Peace Hotel. Set in 1935, when northeastern China was occupied by the Japanese, the period drama marks the first collaboration between award-winning actors Chen Shu (Fighter of the Destiny) and Lei Jiayin (Guns N'Roses, Old Boy). Li Guangjie (Hawthorn Tree Forever) also co-stars as a police chief.

Wang Dading (Lei Jiayin) arrives at Peace Hotel to investigate an opium trade case. By chance, he meets fellow patriot Dr. Chen Jiaying (Chen Shu) at the hotel. Dr. Chen, who studied medicine in Japan, tells Wang Dading that the Japanese are testing biological weapons, and she is working with anti-Japanese guerrillas to search for the location of the laboratory. When the Japanese military police surround Peace Hotel, Wang Dading and Dr. Chen decide to pose as a married couple to lessen suspicion and confront the enemy together.

1935年東北淪陷期間﹐東北敖東城民間愛國志士王大頂追查一批即將流入民間的鴉片膏﹐入住到和平飯店內。在飯店內遇見了愛國海外歸僑醫學博士陳佳影。陳佳影在日本學醫期間﹐就已得知日本為加快侵華步伐﹐正在東北試驗細菌武器。為阻止日軍的細菌試驗﹐盡快找到生物細菌實驗室﹐陳佳影心懷民族大義發揮自己醫學專長積極配合敖東抗日游擊分隊尋找實驗室﹐無意間進入了和平飯店。而此時的和平飯店已經被日本憲兵徹底包圍。王大頂和陳佳影為躲避日偽敵人的調查﹐萍水相逢的兩個年青人只好假扮成夫妻﹐并在和平飯店與敵人鬥智鬥勇。*終﹐王大頂和陳佳影憑借著自身的智慧和勇氣﹐配合敖東抗日游擊分隊成功的查出了日本人隱藏在飯店內的秘密并一舉搗毀了細菌實驗室。
