Four years after Train to Busan, director Yeon Sang Ho presents the sequel to the acclaimed zombie movie, Peninsula! Yeon's latest zombie blockbuster features the completely new cast of Kang Dong Won (Golden Slumber), Lee Jung Hyun (The Battleship Island), Lee Re (Miss & Mrs. Cops), Kwon Hae Hyo (Juror 8), Kim Do Yoon (The Wailing), Kim Min Jae (Jo Pil-Ho: The Dawning Rage) and Koo Kyo Hwan (Jane). Peninsula is set in the same universe as Train to Busan, but with different characters and storyline.

Korea has become an isolated country since the zombie outbreak. Four years ago, Marine Captain Jung Seok (Kang Dong Won) and his sister's family boarded a ship to escape the apocalypse, but only he and his brother-in-law Chul Min (Kim Do Yoon) survived. Since then, they've been living as refugees in Hong Kong. One day, Jung Seok and Chul Min go on a mission to return to the peninsula and retrieve a food truck to Incheon. While heading back to the port, they get caught by militia, but Jung Seok is saved by Min Jung (Lee Jung Hyun) and her daughter Jooni (Lee Re). They are determined to survive till the end and escape the zombie-infested peninsula.

Korea has officially become an isolated country due to the mysterious viral outbreak.
