Written and directed by Lee Hae Young (Believer), the period espionage thriller Phantom is set in 1930s Korea during the Japanese occupation. The film is based on Chinese author Mai Jia's novel Feng Sheng that also inspired the 2009 Chinese blockbuster The Message. Sol Kyung Gu (Kill Boksoon) leads an ensemble cast that includes Park Hae Soo (Yaksha: Ruthless Operations), Honey Lee (Extreme Job), Park So Dam (Parasite), Kim Dong Hee (Extracurricular), Seo Hyun Woo (Honest Candidate 2) and Esom (Kill Boksoon).

On the new Japanese resident-general's first day in the capital, there is an assassination attempt by an underground freedom fighter group. Captain Kaito (Park Hae Soo) suspects that a spy codenamed Phantom has infiltrated the colonial government. He sets a trap for five suspects – Murayama Junji (Sol Kyung Gu), Park Cha Kyung (Honey Lee), Yuriko (Park So Dam), Cheon Gye Jang (Seo Hyun Woo) and Baek Ho (Kim Dong Hee) – who work in the Government-General. Imprisoned in a remote hotel, the five suspects are pit against each other. Each must prove their innocence or inform against each other in order to survive. Who will escape and who is the real Phantom?
