To the delight of anime fans everywhere, Sailor Moon (originally written by Takeuchi Naoko) returned in 2014 with the reboot Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal! Although it features new designs and a slightly different style of art, the anime nevertheless tells the familiar story of Tsukino Usagi, a regular girl who gets the power to transform into Sailor Moon, the guardian of love and justice, after meeting a talking black cat named Luna. Sailor Moon is joined on her battle against evil by Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus, as well as the mysterious Tuxedo Mask. Arriving in 2016, Season 3 of Sailor Moon Crystal is based on the manga's Infinity arc.
