ATV swordplay drama Reincarnated is one of the studio's great classics from the RTV years. Aired in 1979, the 60-episode series garnered unprecedented ratings, sealing Norman Tsui Siu Keung's heroic swordsman image into television memory. While most swordplay dramas are adapted from novels, Reincarnated is Hong Kong's first original television period drama, and the screenplay by renowned novelist Huang Yi was actually later adapted into a novel. The drama's phenomenal action scenes were choreographed by none other than Ching Siu Tung (A Chinese Ghost Story). The production team also includes names like David Lai, Tsui Siu Ming, and Taylor Wong, all of whom would later help form the backbone of Hong Kong cinema. In addition to Norman Tsui, Reincarnated features many of RTV's biggest stars of the time like Ng Wai Kwok, Candice Yu, Nora Miu, Ma Man Yee, and Cheung Ying.

Despite growing up at the great Wudang sect, Wan Fei Yeung (Norman Tsui) never got the chance to advance his martial arts as he is just a laborer. His mundane life turns extraordinary when he meets a mysterious swordsman who secretly teaches him martial arts. Armed with his newly acquired skills, Wan leaves Wudang in search of adventure, encountering friends and foe alike on the road. When the martial arts world is shaken by a series of bloody mutinies and conspiracies, the young, anonymous Wan becomes the unlikely leading force against the rise of an evil sect and its powerhungry master.

長年受神秘黑衣人夜授武當七絕，並被警告習得之武功絕不能在他人面前顯露。與此同時，江湖正掀起腥風血雨，無敵門強逼各門派歸順，傅玉書為救出逍遙派掌門寒潭老怪混入武當，更用卑鄙手段殺了掌門青松接任為武當掌門。重出江湖的寒潭老怪與外孫傅玉書、傅香君兩兄妹重整逍遙派後，欲藉武當重創無敵門得以統一武林；而雲飛揚跟獨孤無敵首度決戰時，就被打成重傷
導致武功盡廢。

由於天蠶功強練再久也不會結繭破關，必須自廢武功方能起死回生，故此雲飛揚被傷至武功盡失後，天蠶功方能在體內重新滋長，結繭破關。以前的武當後人只因不了解天蠶功的真訣，才會一直無法練成。破繭而出的雲飛揚先後打敗峨嵋的管中流，鏟除逍遙派及傅玉書，最後更重挫練成滅絕神功第九重的獨孤無敵，為妹妹獨孤鳳、生父青松、師叔燕沖天及師妹倫婉兒報仇，
亦解除了整個武林危機。

I received this DVD boxset for over 2 weeks now and I must stress that it was a most pleasing purchase.
I first spotted this drama DVD boxset on the YESASIA website over 4 years ago, but because it was on their American site, I could not purchase it, so I was thrilled when I stumbled across it by chance earlier this month!!To watch and savour this classic again is an overwhelming experience! It certainly brings back alot of
nostalgic memories. I can surely say that they dont make kung fu drama like this anymore. The quality of
the DVD is good and overall presentation is nice. The boxset is in original recording and uncut. I can say
that the untimely death of the 'lead character' is one of those scenes that has stuck with me since watching
it during childhood! May I also state that even my 5 year old and 3 year old daughters enjoys viewing it with me and
they can even sing the theme song now!

Seriously my friend, if you want to sell your products worldwide, at least make it watchable. This Movie is so great. But without subtitles or dub you just don't care to us who can't speak chinese.

ANOTHER ATV CLASSIC Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
One of ATV classic series of all time.Seen it on VHS way back in 1983 and was a bit dissapointed when half way thru the series,Norman Tsui was replaced apparently over dispute of money.Other wise I think the ending could be different.Overall, I still rate this series as one of my favourite series for viewing and collection.
