SF9 미니 8집 ‘9loryUS’
SF9이 오는 7월 새 앨범을 발매하고 활동에 나선다. 새 앨범명은 ‘9loryUS(글로리어스)’로, 정규 1집 ‘FIRST COLLECTION’을 통해 그간 이룬 음악적 성취를 모아 새로운 세계를 두드린 SF9이 하나가 되어 맞이하는 찬란한 순간을 그릴 예정이다.
타이틀곡은 ‘여름 향기가 날 춤추게 해 (Summer Breeze)’로, 자유로운 여름 무드를 담은 하우스 장르의 곡이다. 빛나는 여름날을 보내는 SF9의 청량한 비주얼과 뜨거운 퍼포먼스가 조화롭게 어우러지며 무더위를 날려버릴 에너제틱한 무대를 선사한다.
‘9loryUS’ 앨범은 지난 1월 정규 1집 이후 약 6개월만의 신보이다. SF9은 지난 1월 타이틀곡 ‘Good Guy’로 음악방송 첫 1위를 달성하는 등 2020년 들어 가파른 상승세를 보이고 있다. 최근에는 그룹 활동과 더불어 연기, 예능, 음악방송 MC 등 각자 다방면에서 활발하게 활동하며 대중에게 눈도장을 찍고 있다.

Miss those days when digital music charts were full of K-pop summer anthems ? This summer, we have SF9 who comes back with a bright, fresh yet chic style in 9loryUS!
"The summer fragrance is making me dance! Bang Bang Bang! Let's giddy up, giddy up, giddy up now!" Composed by FNC's founder Han Sung Ho and RBW's Kim Do Hoon, "Summer Breeze" (Track 1) gives off summer energy in a mix of house beats and synth sounds accompanied by acoustic guitar melody. Han Sung Ho is also the main lyricist of the song along with N.Flying's Seung Hyub, Young Bin and Zu Ho. This summer bop is catchy, uplifting and addictive. It totally makes me want to dance in the summer breeze! What makes a summer jam isn't just how upbeat and cheery the melody is – it's the vibe that reminds you of this particularly passionate and heart-fluttering season. Produced by Justin Reinstein (The Boyz's Reveal), mid-tempo number "Into The Night" (Track 2) is filled with romantic lyrics co-written by Young Bin, Jae Yoon, Zu Ho and Chani: "Follow the stars, write our own story. Write down on that star so we can't erase it… Into the night, the love story that only the two of us know." This song makes you feel as if you're chilling under a starry summer night with your lover on the beach. My Story, My Song (Track 6) is easily one of my favorites from this album. SF9 comforts Fantasy's hearts with the warm lyrics –"My love song for you / The song for only one person / The song that only wishes for your happiness / Well this is my story / It's my song to tell you, no matter what / I hope you don't get sick and be happy." In Seong, Tae Yang and Jae Yoon's high notes sound very comforting in this pop ballad. Produced by Willie Weeks (Monsta X's Follow), deep house number OK Sign (Track 3) delves into a more dreamy synth-style ambience. The song has a dynamic rhythm and lyrics about wanting a crush to give him a signal tonight. Besides writing rap lyrics for all the songs in 9loryUS, Zu Ho also lifts our spirits with his self-produced side track "Go High" (Track 5) about breaking free from our boring, repetitive daily life. 9loryUS also features the house groove plug "All Day All Night" (Track 4) which is fused with hip-hop elements that give off a funky retro feel. "Summer Breeze" has to be one of the best summer hits of this year so far. Before 9loryUS was released, I doubted if this energetic summer-themed album would actually suit SF9 because of their chic group image. But I was wrong – they’ve successfully blended vivid summer music with their own distinctive style. |
