Alice Nine is celebrating their 9th anniversary together all through 2013, and part of their celebration includes a plan to release three singles over three consecutive months! Shadowplay is the second of the three releases, and the song is written by band vocalist Shou in his second songwriting effort. The single includes Scarlet as B-side track.

This edition comes with a bonus DVD containing the Shadowplay music video and two live performances from the band's 2012 Countdown Live concert.
